Ah, it's unfortunate they couldn't help you out with what you desired.

I'm new here so acknowledge your feedback more than what I say myself, especially as you've stated you have brought several builds from PCS. I do know, as does everyone else most likely, that with automated systems, companies rely on them and expect 100% workability which is not always the case. (I rely on systems in my work as well) and this can lead to companies favouring the system over the customer.

Let's hope they get that 120hz 4K G-Sync screen in soon! :p ..and chuck your build on here when/if you do as i'm intrigued.

120hz 4k Gsync has to be at least a year away surely. Also, there aren't a lot of titles that a 1080 will drive at 120 FPS @ 4k res. It's a bit of a gimmick IMO. 120hz 2k screen though.... oh yes!

That's pretty much it - favouring the system over the user. The G-Sync question was just tagged on to my main issue, which was overheating (55c at idle, stock CPU, OC fan profile!), and hitting 95 under stress before I turned it off (terrible paste job - the heatsink was actually bent too!). I was really just after getting that sorted, but as soon as it turned into being my fault because I'd been warned about 4K not having G-Sync (I hadn't), things took a course for the worse.

Even if I'd just been told "Sorry, error on our part, we'll fix your overheating issue" I'd have probably grumbled, but got the heatsink fixed. But I wasn't - it became very apparent that the opinion beeng tendered was that this was *my* fault!

I'm really gutted - I'd waited ages for this to be available for launch, and then again for the 4K screen, only to end up with nothing down to bad customer service (and my own reluctance to just "accept it").

Good products will make a company, but bad customer service will put people off.

Are you sending it to get fixed? As I'm sure it'll still be under its standard warranty.
Just sucks having to wait again.

I would have sent it back to be fixed, but once the conversation took a turn south with regard to the G-Sync warning, it went back for a full refund. That's what I was saying as relates to CS. It's a real pity, as the laptop was an awesome bit of hardware (especially if I could get the heating issues sorted), and I'm missing it already!

There's other laptops appearing with 4K 120mhz G-sync screens right now, although when Clevo will get them I don't know. It's not a priority really (I ended up acting more on principal than practicality!) Appreciate your the point though about 4K 120mhz screens and the GTX1080, but this is where I'd really hope G-sync makes a difference.

Time will tell, this time I'll wait for reviews first!

Are you sure they are 4k? I'm really surprised at that as I haven't seen anything even PC based that fast. I know there are 120hz 2k screens coming out and I believe I read there may be a 3k 120hz screen on the horizon... but 4k?

Yeah; I may have jumped the gun on that! AUO have demo'd a 120mhz panel, but as far as I know, it's not in any machines just yet (or even in production). 3K/120/GS panels seem to be more readily available (not sure about naming other companies...but a cryptic clue might be "immigrants clothing" - due in November). It's not a priority for me. The 4K was mainly required for graphics editing and development work, so it's not really that important.

Can't wait for ever though...if I wait for Kaby Lake desktop CPU in a laptop, it could be a while...and then I'd end up waiting for Volta...and so on. Eventually I'll just have to take the plunge (again!)
