I wondered whether you would change any of the below? I am a light gamer but I cant even play Hogwarts Legacy with my current PC (AMD Ryzen 5 3600x) so am looking for something more future proof.

If you currently have a 3600x, then you're already on AM4, so upgrading the current PC may make more sense and get you far better performance at the budget, but it's unlikely the CPU preventing playing games, more likely the VRAM on the GPU being insufficient.

If it's a PCSpecialist system, we can offer some advice on upgrades, if not, then we can't but we can at least evaluate if upgrading is possible and steer you somewhere to get advice on the best way forwards
 
As has been pointed out gpu vram may be an issue, I remember when Hogwarts launched is ran better on a 3060 with 12 gb than an 8gb 4060.

Another point is you want a future proof system and well AM4 is the wrong choice for that and you should really perhaps consider AM 5. No truly new chips just rebrands have been launched for AM4 for years now.

As we don't know your current set up can't recommend any possible upgrade for your PC, as any suggestions in part depends on you gfx card, motherboard, PSU etc.
