Newbie Gaming PC Build

Afternoon folks,

As title, this is the first time of me designing a gaming PC and I just wanted to run it past a few more knowledgeable people before I take the plunge. I understand some parts may be overkill, I'm more concerned about things that may not synergise well or underperform.

I'm looking to build this as a high end gaming PC for the next five years or so, something that I can just swap in more RAM or a better GPU quite a bit further down the line if needs be.

Can anyone see any faults or rookie mistakes, or evaluate how it should perform? For references sake I'm looking to run Battlefield 2042 at ultra settings, and something that can take on newer games down the line on high / ultra.

Thanks for any advice, PC Spec as follows -

There’s a bit of work to be done to get this build to a high standard, can you let us know what budget you’re working with so we can get this optimised for you? And will you have any other system uses, such as streaming, editing etc?

Points of interest: why buy lots of expensive bits of kit and put it in the cheapest case available? It’s also not a case known for good airflow, things will be getting toasty in there. The CPU, motherboard and cooler are mismatched. Storage could also be improved. I’d get my monitor and peripherals elsewhere, you can get better items at a decent price.

So although it’s a bit of a damning critique, you’ve done the right thing by coming to the forum before pulling the trigger. We can help get you a cracking system 🙂

I didn't even consider airflow with the case really, I was treating it more like a box to contain the components than a component in itself. I'm also trying my best to avoid too many LEDs.

My main use for this PC will be solely gaming, with a budget of £2400, which has to take in monitor and peripherals into consideration.

Paired up with a Samsung Odyssey G5.

That eats up the budget so you’d be left with a choice of digging up a bit of extra cash for the peripherals, or just getting a cheap keyboard and mouse until you’re able to invest in a sexier combo.

Let us know what you think 🙂👍
