New to PC gaming

Hi there,

I'm new to PC gaming but want to get into it. Would like to play games such as DAYZ. Was wondering if you can suggest a decent build for as close to £1000 as possible. I already have a monitor so that's not an issue.

I specced this out but tbh I don't really know much about building 😂

Hi there,
Unfortunately component prices aren't the cheapest right now but we should be able to spec you out something without cutting too many corners.

Any uses besides gaming? e.g streaming, editing, animation etc
What monitor do you have? Make + Model or Resolution and Refresh Rate would be handy to know.

Awesome I appreciate the help! Not really any other uses besides gaming and watching youtube. I have an Acer Nitro VG270UP 2560 X 1440 and 144Hz.

Hi there, I'm looking for a build for as close to £1000 as possible. Will only be used for gaming. Already have a monitor Acer Nitro VG270UP 2560 X 1440 and 144Hz. I have no clue what I'm I'm looking at when building a machine so any suggested builds would be great.

Thanks.

You're not going to be able to do a basic 1440p system for that budget, it's going to be at least £1400 with a 3060ti, prices are still high generally.

Thanks for the info. It doesn't have to be up to 1440p it's just a monitor I already had for my Xbox. If that helps.

So what's your budget for the monitor?

A PC is a system from the power in through to the monitor output, each component has to balance with the other otherwise you get performance bottlenecks.

If it's £1000 for the PC and a 1080p monitor, that's also going to be too tight.

Really for 1080p, you need at least £1000 just for the PC with a 3060

For entry level 1440p with a 3060ti you'll need about £1400 if it's with an older chipset

If you can stretch the budget to £1400, this is the sort of 1440p gaming system you should be aiming for.

Thanks guys that's very helpful. So basically for the sake of £160 I assume it'd be a smarter choice to go for the 1440p option? If so that's not a problem I can wait a couple of months to get the budget up to £1400.

Absolutely, definitely better to spend a bit more and only have to spend right, rather than cut back on components and then needing to upgrade sooner rather than later.
Merry Christmas! 🙂
That's great thanks a lot for your help! at least I know what I'm saving for now lol.
Merry Christmas to you too :)
