Completely new to PC building/configuring looking for the best value for a budget PC. I have no idea if the below spec is any good so any advice welcome.
teenager is not overly into gaming but just wants to get started with something.

What's the purpose of the computer?

If it's just for gaming, at this price you'd be better off going for a console. If it's to do school work on as well, it's a very tight, perhaps impossible budget. Certainly the build you have selected will be no good for anything except the most basic games, and even then I doubt it would be up to much...

I also agree with this.

The performance you'd get out of a PC at this budget would be poor to put it lightly, it would defeat the object of a gaming pc. Prices are the highest they've ever been due to worldwide stock and logistics issues, it's just not possible at that price point. You'd be looking more like £1200 for an entry level system.

A console would be far far better and cost around £500 for the top tier.

Sorry @Lexllo9009 I have to agree with the above. The components you have chosen are not the best, and for a decent 'gaming' computer, then you'll be looking at spending more money.

Unless you can stretch your budget, I would also suggest buying an Xbox or a Playstation

I would have to agree, unfortunately, with the previous comments having just gone through the process of configuring a gaming specific system for my 10 year old.

Anything decent which you want to future-proof for upgrades like GPU etc. will easily cost you upwards of £1,500 without even breaking a sweat. And that's just the PC without any peripherals.

As an example of what "entry level" looks like at the moment, here's the cheapest build I'd recommend. It's not hugely powerful in terms of gaming, but it is far better then the build you posted. More importantly, it has the potential for upgrades, so in a year's time, say, you can spend £250-400 on a graphics card and have a medium-to-high-level gaming setup. For an idea of what it can achieve in the short term for gaming, look up reviews of the AMD 5600G.

You can then buy a decent monitor for £140-150, which again would be compatible with an upgrade in a year's time or so. The AOC 24G2U/BK would be a good choice.

Just be aware with integrated graphics, you'd have to reduce settings to low and it would only work for light gaming such as fortnite and similar, wouldn't work for any AAA titles.
