This is a similar spec to what I've ordered. I would be interested to hear any feedback on how it handles what you throw at it, particularly gaming but anything CPU/Graphics intensive would be interesting too.

I ordered this mainly for my work, a lot of 3D modelling and rendering, so it will be pushing the laptop to its max, I also game casually but not competitively, will let you know how it goes.

The only downside is the 2666 Mhz RAM which is slowing down any Ryzen CPU. Should you see in these next days the configurator offer 3200 Mhz (currently is not) I'd suggest to amend the order. You might loose 5-10% of speed w/ the 2666 due to that.

Yeah, you are right, the 3600MHz will definitely optimise the performance of the CPU and I think this will be more noticeable on the more intensive processing being done but either way, good call Macco26

AFAK 3600 is not a Jedec standard. Cezanne Zen3 can support up to 3200 Mhz JEDEC specs @ 1.2 V. No tweaking allowed.

Got the laptop, first look the build is very good, has a nice weight to it, but not too heavy, it is much thinner than I thought, I opened it up to install the second m.2 ssd and the heatpipes, or the lack of heatpipes really shock me (half as those on an intel. I have heard all over the internet about how AMD pulled though this gen but actually seeing it is just shocking! The laptop does not get hot on the lap compared to other main brands, unless you are gaming of course!

The first day when I am updating the system etc, ran into the first bluescreen, indicating critical error has occurred, not sure what it is, but never found out what it really is, it didn't happen again after windows updated itself after a few restarts. There is some software bug with the PCS GamingCenterU software, as the function keys controlling keyboard backlight stoped working after 2 days, erm... Also when the laptop goes into sleep, it turns itself off, so all opened windows are gone when you come back, weird. Also when you wake the laptop up again your keyboard rgb is gone, and you have to go to the PCS software and try to turn it off and on to get it back on, and sometimes it just dont work and you have to actually restart the laptop! these software tweaks are a little crazy....

But talking about the hardware, it is just insane, as I use it for 3d work and some gaming, the performance is just way out there! Battery life is surprisingly good, not sure how they've done it but in the past all my gaming laptops just don't last more than an hour off the charger even on light work.

Hopefully PCS sorts out their software and pushes out some updates soon as these little issues are just very annoying, but other than that the laptop is insanely good!

Are you sure you are using the Control Center 3.x? By the name, GamincCenterU is something 2020 era (or even before) PCS happened to sometimes install it but it's not for this 2021 laptops. Check your account's page and if there is any newer Control Center 3.x go for it. You'll solve any software problem with it, I bet.

About the internals, did you take a screenshot of the Internals as a whole?
This is my Intel Ionico 17 as a reference (Ionico 15 should be exactly the same but the side radiators left and right a lot smaller, due to the shorter width:

Thanks for the heads up, it appears they have installed the old software, the new software fixed many issues, but the function keys for the keyboard backlight is still not working, not too big deal.

I didn't take a picture when I opened it up, but it has 4 heat pipes, which is 2 less than the intel variant, thermo is really good for AMD for the first time ever! Fans only speed up when I am in gaming or rendering, 3d modeling actually don't push the computer that much, amazing! Also unless gaming, the laptop don't get hot so it is good on the lap!

I'm having an issue with my backlight keys too. If I use control center to turn them on they are fine until i restart of power off. On next load they'll be off again. Do you have a physical key to turn them on on your machine? Mine's an Elimina Pro.

Despite I don't suffer of this problem (I press the SAVE TO BIOS button in the CC RGB lightning page after any amendment though), I can say Ionico does have a key combination to reduce and ramp up keyboard lighting, that is Fn+F6 and Fn+F7 respectively.

If the file C:\Windows\Memory.dmp exists (with a recent date and time stamp) then upload that to the cloud with a link to it here. Also upload any recent minidumps in the folder C:\Windows\Minidumps to the cloud with a link to them here. I'll gladly take a look at those to see whether they have any clues. (Note: The dumps have to go to the cloud because they're generally too large to go on here).

I'm still downloading the kernel dump (memory.dmp) but the minidump (050221-11609-01.dmp) dated Sun May 2 17:06:33.597 2021 has a stop code of DRIVER_POWER_STATE_FAILURE. The specific exception in this case is that a device object (a driver) has been blocking an IRP for too long (IRPs are Interrupt Request Packets, they are part of the device interrupt mechanism used when hardware devices communicate with their drivers). This is almost always a failure of the driver, though it can also be caused by a failure of the device itself.

The process in control was System and although it doesn't say as much, from the active thread stack trace it would appear to be the idle thread. This gets dispatched when there is no work for the CPU to do, that would gell very nicely with your seeing these restarts when it's idle.

The stack trace also reveals the driver at fault; it's nvlddmkm.sys, the Nvidia graphics driver.

Not only that but the failing IRP also clearly shows nvlddmkm.sys as the problem driver and the power state triage area also clearly points at nvlddmkm.sys.

I'll let you know if the kernel dump says anything else.

Your logs don't contain anything related to the Nvidia card/driver, but the System log has numerous warnings issued for your Killer wireless card...



I would uninstall your Nvidia driver using DDU and download and install the latest driver from the Nvidia website - be sure NOT to select any of the Nvidia audio components, weve had issues reported with those before.

I would also check the Killer WiFi driver and see whether there is an updated driver for it.

LATER EDIT:

The kernel dump is a copy of the minidump, this is not at all uncommon. The kernel dump does identify the failing thread as the Idle thread.

The active thread driver list here contains an error for amdkmdag.sys, this is part of the AMD chipset driver package.

I've seen BSODs before that appeared to be Nvidia graphics related but which were in fact AMD chipset driver related. I suggest you download the AMD driver support tool and ensure that your chipset drivers are up to date.

Thank you good Sir for your time helping me! I have uninstalled Nvidia drivers with DDU and reinstalled them from the Nvidea website, also installed the latest AMD drivers and Killer Control Center, Hopefully, these cover all the errors and they don't happen again!
