New PC wanted for mid/high tier gaming

Hey all,

I'm looking to build a new PC as my old gaming laptop is coming to the end of its days. A laptop made sense for me at the time as I was moving around a lot, however now I'm more stationary I'd like a proper gaming PC. I've built the below spec without any real knowledge of Desktops. I mainly play WoW, however I'd love to play more of the Total War games, as well as have the opportunity to play most new games at a good spec.

Please let me know what you recommend.

Thanks!

My recommendations are:
Case: Cases are obviously personal choice, but that case will not have good airflow.
If you want cheap & good go for the CORSAIR SPEC-DELTA RGB MID TOWER GAMING CASE
Mobo:
If you plan to overclock, might be worth investing in a better board like the ASUS ROG.
CPU: If you wanna save money go for a Ryzen CPU, if not try to go for i9 9900k (Total war games will benefit from it)
RAM: Get 3200Mhz .
Storage: Consider an M.2 instead of the SSD (Similar pricing!!!!)
PSU: Go for the lowest RMx series (750W) Will give you room to upgrade GPU in future!!!
CPU Cooler: Either go with a Hyper212 if you want to save money (Your CPU will run hot-ish)
If you don't mind the colour and price Noctua is the way to go for Air cooling 100%.
& if you want a tidy build go for something like the H100 Water cooler! DONT cheap out on this.

Hope this helps you out ;)

Thanks for the response! I've changed my build to the below:

Case
CORSAIR SPEC-DELTA RGB MID TOWER GAMING CASE
Processor (CPU)
AMD Ryzen 7 3700X Eight Core CPU (3.6GHz-4.4GHz/36MB CACHE/AM4)

Memory (RAM)
16GB Corsair VENGEANCE DDR4 3200MHz (2 x 8GB)
Graphics Card
6GB NVIDIA GEFORCE GTX 1660 SUPER - HDMI, DP - GeForce GTX VR Ready!
1st Storage Drive
2TB SEAGATE BARRACUDA SATA-III 3.5" HDD, 6GB/s, 7200RPM, 256MB CACHE
1st M.2 SSD Drive
512GB ADATA SX6000 Pro PCIe M.2 2280 (2100 MB/R, 1500 MB/W)
DVD/BLU-RAY Drive
NOT REQUIRED
External DVD/BLU-RAY Drive
8x Slim USB 2.0 External DVD-RW
Power Supply
CORSAIR 450W VS SERIES™ VS-450 POWER SUPPLY
Power Cable
1 x 1 Metre UK Power Cable (Kettle Lead)
Processor Cooling
Corsair H100x Hydro Series High Performance CPU Cooler
Thermal Paste
ARCTIC MX-4 EXTREME THERMAL CONDUCTIVITY COMPOUND

Cooling was definitely something I was worried about as my laptop often overheated.

I'll be going with the following monitor as well:

"Philips 246E9QJAB 23.8" IPS Full HD (1920x1080) Freesync, 75Hz monitor with Built-in speakers."

Is it worth picking up a more expensive 1440p monitor or a144hz one? I'm going for a 1660 Super as I'm staying at the 1080p range for monitors.

Thanks again.

Very nice changes.
I would still recommend that you upgrade your Power Supply to a 750 RMx or 850 RMx series for future GPU upgrades, as GPU is the most often upgraded part.
If you are going to stick with a 1080p 75Hz then you not going to need much 'horse power' from your GPU and 1660S should be sufficient for a while.
If you do want a 1440p 144hz (I have one, and highly recommend for FPS, Action/Adventure RPG games - e.g WoW) You will need something like a RTX 2070 for that.
Apart from that things are looking good in my opinion!
Make sure you pick up the £5 Warranty! - Very much worth it for the cost.

Case
CORSAIR SPEC-DELTA RGB MID TOWER GAMING CASE - Not the case I would choose, poor airflow
Processor (CPU)
AMD Ryzen 7 3700X Eight Core CPU (3.6GHz-4.4GHz/36MB CACHE/AM4) - 3600 would be my choice for gaming
Motherboard
ASUS® TUF X470-PLUS GAMING (DDR4, 6Gb/s, CrossFireX) - RGB Ready! - Either save here and go with the B450 Aorus or plum for the X570 for the new features. The X470 is adrift for me unless you have a specific use.
Memory (RAM)
16GB Corsair VENGEANCE DDR4 3200MHz (2 x 8GB) - Perfect
Graphics Card
6GB NVIDIA GEFORCE GTX 1660 SUPER - HDMI, DP - GeForce GTX VR Ready! - Perfect
1st Storage Drive
2TB SEAGATE BARRACUDA SATA-III 3.5" HDD, 6GB/s, 7200RPM, 256MB CACHE - 3TB offering is normally not much more, may be worthwhile
1st M.2 SSD Drive
512GB ADATA SX6000 Pro PCIe M.2 2280 (2100 MB/R, 1500 MB/W) - Fantastic drive, space will be eaten fast so 1TB may be worthwhile
DVD/BLU-RAY Drive
NOT REQUIRED
External DVD/BLU-RAY Drive
8x Slim USB 2.0 External DVD-RW
Power Supply
CORSAIR 450W VS SERIES™ VS-450 POWER SUPPLY - I would recommend the RMx purely for its quality. If that's not what you want to go for then the 550W TXm would be my minimum recommendation
Power Cable
1 x 1 Metre UK Power Cable (Kettle Lead)
Processor Cooling
Corsair H100x Hydro Series High Performance CPU Cooler
Thermal Paste
ARCTIC MX-4 EXTREME THERMAL CONDUCTIVITY COMPOUND - Not required with the Corsair coolers, they come with excellent paste.
