I wanted to ask if I should change or add anything to this?
Also, my all-in-one has a 60Hz refresh rate, should I replace it for a new monitor?

Anything else?

Thanks alot!

It's a good build, well balanced. Are you going to be overclocking? I'd drop down to the noctua cooler which is a lot quieter than the h60 and still will afford a generous overclock.

I would definitely consider a dedicated monitor for a build like that. I'd go for a gsync 1440p monitor which the 980ti would do justice.

Thanks a lot for the reply, would the Noctua cooler be just as efficient at decreasing temps or a little less? Am considering it now due to the possible chance of it being quieter :p.
Quick addon: Which monitor should I go for that would not push my budget over the top too much?

Appreciate it and any future feedback,
Thanks!
Spiero :)

The noctua is the best air cooler around imho, they're superb at cooling. It would be ample for that processor.

The monitor I was thinking is as below:

That monitor looks amazing. I put it down as an option.
Wanted to ask if it would be better if I used windows 7 instead of windows 10? Heard there are many compatibility issues with win10.

Thanks

I personally use Windows 10 on both my laptop and ageing desktop and have installed it on countless laptops, desktops and gaming platforms. There's absolutely nothing wrong with it so long as you know what you're doing and the hardware supports it. There are actually a lot of benefits to using it especially for gaming.

I will be overclocking if some games or services require it but am not thinking I would on the daily.

If I recall, the Noctua cooler peforms better than the H60 and is on par with the H80 AIO coolers and, as Spyder said, much quieter. I have found the 6700k extremely easy to overclock and am currently running a ver stable clock at less thanthe stock voltage. You can always just use boost setting via the motherboard software.

Thanks, I wanted to ask if it would be worth it for me to add a PCI-E SSD? Or maybe a firewire, unsure what the firewire does but yea

You only need to go for a firewire port if you know you'll need it, its only used by very select bits and pieces (often music related as far as I can tell), many many years ago Apply used firewire for their some of their iPods instead of USB (it was faster than USB1) as Firewire was created by Apple.

Futhermore the audio equipment that does used Firewire often requires the Firewire input interface to have a TI chipset, and PCS confirmed to me when I bought my PC that their Firewire card does not have a TI chipset.

I would make a bid for 2666MHz DDR4. It seems to improve performance by an FPS or two in many games, and in a select few has quite large returns. The cost seems to be about £14 extra, but with a build of that kind (6700k, 980ti) I'd imagine that's within scope.

Here are some benchmarks: :)

And +1 for the Noctua

I'm going to add the Noctua and maybe the 3000MHz DDR4 then if I'm going to jump a little. Haha :D

The following were exchanged:
16GB FURY DDR4 2133MHz to a 32GB PREDATOR QUAD-DDR4 3000 MHZ.
850W RM SERIES™ MODULAR 80 PLUS® GOLD, ULTRA QUIET to a 1000W RM SERIES™ MODULAR 80 PLUS® GOLD, ULTRA QUIET.
5TB WD BLACK 3.5" WD4003FZEX, SATA 6 Gb/s, 64MB CACHE (7200rpm) to a 4TB WD BLACK 3.5" WD4003FZEX, SATA 6 Gb/s, 64MB CACHE (7200rpm) because the 5TB is not in-stock anymore.
H100i Corsair Liquid Cooler to the Noctua as you guys suggested.

My justification:
The 16GB at 2133MHz felt like it wouldn't be good enough for when I add another 980ti to SLI this beautiful beast.
The Noctua is quieter (as you guys stated and have found through research that this is correct).
The 5TB ran out of stock.
When I add me the 2nd 980ti I'd need to have 1000W (leave 20% breathing room).

Are these changes fine?
If not, please share your opinion!
Thanks alot, Spiero :)

For gaming, 32gb ram at 3000 is absolute overkill. If you can afford it, I suppose why not. 16to is more than adequate for gaming and you will not notice any difference in speed over the 2666mhz. If you are going all out, the Samsung 951 m.2 drives are lightning quick. Great for speedy load times in games.

I'd be recording and streaming as well. Forgot to state that in the justification. :p
Also, is the case fine? Would it have enough airflow? Any case I should specifically look at?
Lastly, anything else? Any parts I should change or should look at?

Meh, I guess this build should be fine then without the PCI-E SSD. I believe the system should run faster than lightning anyway.
Also, I'd like to know how future proof this build would be as I'd like for it to last a couple of years Haha :D

Thanks,
Spiero

How long is a piece of string? Lol. It should last you a good while. As games get more demanding, quality will drop but a good few years yes.

It would certainly last a couple of years. Likely a lot more, notwithstanding the usual GPU upgrade cycles, what resolution you end up gaming at, etc. The case is a decent case.
You may find yourself better replacing the 980ti rather than adding a second one once Pascal comes out.
