1. Yesterday I went to install the xbox app for gamepass but despite several attempts to do so it just keeps hanging on pending. After this I noticed that it does this with many other apps and after about 30 mins from starting my computer I end up with this. See below

I have tried the suggestions in this thread https://www.pcspecialist.co.uk/forums/threads/xbox-game-app-on-desktop.93938/#post-715627 and this as well

Sadly none of the steps above have resolved the store issue.

Looking at this would I be correct in saying I am looking at having to do a full clean install of windows 11. If so does any one have advice or a link on how to do so as I have never done this before and I am a liitle nervous about doing this.

2. One other thing as well that is a concern. I noticed last night in the event viewer that it is listing a significant number of warnings and errors in the last 24 hours. Please see image below. Should I be concerned by this or is that just normal?

Yeah if you've tried various things your best bet will unfortunately be a full clean install of Windows (it is a known issues in Widows currently)

Mostly you can ignore the warnings and errors in the event log - most are just part and parcel of windows - in fact thats how some scammers try to take advantage of you by pointing you towards said errors and claiming they can fix it, no no they are just scamming you into letting them onto your machine (it can be fun winding them up and wasting their time though - without letting them on)

The only time you really need to take note of errors is if you are having problems like repeated crashing or blue screens and said errors line up in time with the issues you are having

1) Download the Windows 11 media creation tool to your PC

Download Windows 11

2) Insert a USB drive of 8GB or more (I personally use 16GB)

3) Right-click the USB and format it so it has no other data

4) Run the Media Creation tool and select the USB as the install location

5) Once completed, enter your BIOS and change your load order to the USB as the first option

6) If successful, you should be greeted with the Windows installation package

7) Click install now

8) Click custom install Windows (advanced)

9) Delete the partitions where Windows is installed (or all partitions if you want to fully clear up both drives)

10) Install Windows on the fastest drive

12) Let Windows install itself

13) Go through the usual Windows installation process

14) Once you're at the desktop, go to your motherboard's website and download the most up to date drivers (LAN, Chipset, Audio, Wireless, Bluetooth, VGA if needed)

14.5) Optional, but you could install these drivers to a separate USB and install them before Windows has a chance to automatically download them from their server. I personally avoid Armoury Crate entirely but it's up to you whether you want/need this installed

15) Download your GPU drivers from the manufacturer's website (AMD)

16) Once you've done this, go through your Windows settings and customise your PC (e.g. go through privacy settings, set up your refresh rate correctly, enable/disable start-up apps, go through power plans etc.)

17) Let Windows automatically update the rest of the drivers/support

You should now have a fully up to date and fresh install of Windows!

I'm having this same issue after having my new laptop delivered today, managed to install a game this morning on it but then at some point it has stopped working and won't update or download anything. Is the only fix to re install windows? I'm a bit apprehensive about that in case I break it more.

You can't break anything installing windows, it's software, it's not related to hardware at all.

But yes, a windows reinstall only takes aroun 20 minutes, will be far quicker than attempting to troubleshoot and in the end is usually the only course of action anyway.
