Looking for a decent model that runs Apex/Fortnite/Minecraft etc for a teenager. Something that won’t be obsolete is a year. Getting a monitor separately & budget is around €800/€900. Thanks again.

Unfortunately, PCs are at their most expensive ever at present. Your budget will not buy much at all in the current market conditions. The build you have created is lacking in several key areas and won't perform well. You would be better buying a console that would give better gaming performance for less money.

Thanks for the response. Yes, this is something I’ve been trying to explain to the buyer 😉. What would you recommend budget wise? €1200 & upwards?

That would be close to minimum to get you in the door with a build that can be upgraded in future

The only option that is available at this price is an integrated graphics solution. This is an option if you're happy playing lightweight games at low quality settings and relatively low framerates. This should broadly be OK, but it won't be amazing. What you can do here is to spec a decent build in terms of fundamentals (case, motherboard, power supply) so that you can upgrade it in a year or two with a dedicated graphics card and get way, way better performance.

Personally, I'd not be totally convinced this is the best option, but it is more flexible than an Xbox in terms of being used for homework, socialising, etc. It's definitely a workable option. I'd suggest the buyer should have a look at YouTube videos of people playing the game on this kind of system to see whether it's a workable solution (google "5600G Fortnite" or the equivalent and you'll see loads of footage).
