New pc going hella wrong

Thank you so much for your help. I think that system will be well worth the money and maybe I could spend the other 750 on filling out my steam library

And never finding the time to play them all :)
*cough* been there, done that *cough* :)
I have just retired due to health issues. So my partner wanted me to have a new PC and relax and game all day long until she gets home. She knows me very well lol

Out of interest I'm now debating about using my Samsung 4ktv for pc gaming... What is it like using a TV as a gaming 'monitor'?

In a large enough room pretty sweet tbh. I have a USB extender lead hooked upto my chair for keyboard and mouse to plug into and a swivel table to put my keyboard and mouse on. In my opinion it's far better to use a large TV. But that's me

How does the refresh rate for a 4k TV stack up against a monitor? I think I've seen as many posts here about people gaming 4k on a TV than on a monitor, maybe it is the way to go!

I do not know the refresh rate of my TV as its listed as 1650 hyper focus refresh in my manual. However after comparing the TV and my 60hz monitor I use for my media PC there is a huge differance. Using programs like YouTube or playing videos the differance is very minor. Gaming however is very different between the two. I still play stalker shadow of Chernobyl and on my monitor it has flickers moments and seems to be a rather rough experience when compared. As your mind knows no different you assume it's just normal. The TV however makes it smooth as all hell. I would estimate refresh rate is higher on the 4k TV than the monitors. But that's me. My monitor has a 100hz refresh rate for reference.

The TV probably has a 60hz refresh rate; where TVs have higher refresh rates, they might be doubling the frames or interpolating them

The usual 'issue' for gaming on a TV is the response time - and that you often can't get high refresh ones in the same way you can monitors

Also sounds like your monitor is producing screen tear.

Most monitors these days have gsync or freesync to deal with screen tear where the refresh rate of the monitor differs so much from that of the graphics card that it causes quite major display issues. It's a thing of the past with a modern monitor.

Out of interest, what model of monitor do you have?
