New PC - Gaming/Streaming/Video Editing

Hi guys,

Hope to get some thoughts on the below build. I've had my current PC for 6 years and it's finally starting to struggle with everything I want to do. Want to be able to game & stream at the same time. But also have the PC to edit videos for YouTube, that's the biggest hindrence I have at the moment as it's very choppy editing anything at the moment. Not really got a budget, I did go all out at one point with a 3090ti, DDR5, i9-12900k etc but the cost seemed excessive for what I can see is a minimal gain in performance etc.

Any recommendations on editing the below build etc would be massively appreciated. Is there a reason the first M.2 SSD Drive should be a smaller drive?

First of, the current build will do you fine, as one would expect when spending that much.
Firstly, I would question whether you need 64GB of RAM. Unless you're doing some very intensive video editing 32GB should handle your needs. You might be better suited to going for 2x16GB sticks of 3600MHZ, which then leaves the door open to adding 32GB down the line if your needs do require that much RAM.
With the GPU: firstly, what monitor are you pairing this with? A 3080 is best suited to a 1440p Superwide or 4k 144hz display; if you're rocking a standard 1440p display the 3070 will cover you for almost £200 less. Either way, I can't recommend paying ~£160 for the 'Strix Tax', anything more than about £20 would not be worth it IMO for slightly better cooling and power delivery.
Lastly, when you're spending this sort of money, I can't recommend £5 for silver warranty enough.

Cheers for the feedback that's greatly appreciated. I did question whether 64GB was over the top, so dropping to your recommended 32GB of 3600MHZ makes sense and then I can always expand in the future.

I didn't know if the 'unbranded' graphic cards were worthwhile or not hence choosing the Strix but again always happy to consider more informed opinions!

Yeah Silver Warranty is definitely being added, missed that off initially so thanks for spotting that!

I've currently got a LG 27GL850-B as my main monitor (which has my PS5 and Series X plugged into as well) and a BenQ ZOWIE XL2731 as my second monitor. I am considering upgrading the BenQ one though to either a Ultrawide 1440p or a 4K monitor which would then become my main monitor. Although I've not started looking at that yet (that's next on the list haha).

No worries, happy to help.
With console gaming in mind I would probably be leaning towards 4k over Ultrawide.
Hardware Unboxed have done a great video recently on 4k monitors which is worth a look. The two that stand out are the Gigabyte M32U and the MSI MPG321UR-QD. Both are great IPS monitors and have HDMI 2.1, which means you'll be able to game with the consoles too. The MSI is a little pricier but is overall the better pick.
