1) It's not clear on the configuration page, but I'm guessing that the RTX 3090 Graphics card will be any third-party brand that you have available?
2) I'm concerned about the noise levels of the Corsair H100i CPU cooler, as apparently the V2 model can get very loud under load. Would it be worth going for the H100x with ultra quiet fans instead?
3) Would the CPU cooler fans be mounted to the roof when the PC is built? The case has front fans and can support up to a 240mm liquid cooler on top, so it seems like the best place for it.

Thanks in advance

What is your budget? What your monitor your going to be using? What your budget?
1) The RTX 3090 would be supplied by the manufacturer when they are in stock. Due to the high demand it may take a couple of months to even be built.
2)It depends on what games you will be playing because if its high stress games the fans will need to cool faster so the quiet version would be recommended if thats the case.
3)CPU fan will be mount on top op the CPU.

The 3090 is most likely to be a Zotac or Palit card, however, due to ongoing demand for the 3000 series GPUs, PC Specialist are sourcing other brands.

The H100i/H115i RGB Platinum use magnetic levitation fans which are arguably quieter than standard fans as they don't have traditional bearings. You can also drop the added thermal paste if you purchase one of those as they already come with a high quality paste pre-applied.

For the CPU you've chosen, the optimum cooler would be the H115i RGB Platinum as that'll offer maximum heat dissipation. But as it has a 280mm radiator, it would have to be mounted to the front of that particular case.

My budget is 'Oh god no more please' 😅 if I can avoid it! Honestly though, I'm trying to stay under/at £3500 if possible (this build comes to £3365 at the moment, not including the case). I already have a LG 4k-capable monitor (not sure what model it is) that I'm happy to carry over from my current PC.

I understand that the build may take quite some time as the RTX 3090 (and the new Ryzen CPUs) are rarer than hens teeth - no worries there. I'll just be happy to get a 3090 eventually 🙂 regardless of the brand.

Two games that immediately come to mind are GTA 5 and Red Dead Redemption 2 - I intend to crank up the settings on those with this new build. Also probably Cyberpunk 2077 in the future. More importantly though, I'll also be using the PC for Octane and Iray 3d rendering (the latter in-particular demands a fast GPU with enough memory for the scenes). The GPU would be under load for extended periods of time (i.e. a good 1-3 hours for every scene render), so I want to make sure that and the CPU are decently cooled.

Thanks for the clarification on the CPU cooler's fans - I will go for the H115i (and drop the thermal paste). I would like it to be mounted on top though, so I'll need to find a new case. Would the Lian Li Lancool 215 be a good alternative?

My RTX 3090 system was delivered in 5 weeks from order.
I think they're easier to get as most users will go for a 3080 etc. but the situation is variable.

I use mine for rendering with Blender using he cycles engine and it's amazingly quick!

Cooper - That case does look great; my only concern is that it's a bit wide for where I'd ideally like to place it. I will definitely consider it over the next day or two, though. Thanks for your help!

Rob - Good to hear 🙂 that is pretty quick assembly/delivery too. considering stock shortages. But yeah, most people generally want the 3080 or 3070 instead.
