I have a few questions, and I am open to suggestions on any amendments:

- I live in London and tomorrow we are moving into "Tier 4". I wasn't paying attention to whether Leeds would be moving, but I had an afterthought - if Leeds were to move into Tier 4, I assume all production would be halted?

- If I do make amendments and the items I change/add are in stock, will my build keep it's position in the queue or will it be pushed to the back? I placed my order on the 27th (15 working days ago) so I'm hoping I'm near the top of the list to be worked when the 3070 stock arrives.

With regards to PC usage and budget:

- I play games quite often and whilst most of them are not too taxing, my current system struggles with the newer games. I can't even run Warzone because I don't have enough RAM. The games I play most often I play on the lowest graphic settings to avoid performance issues.

- I have been working from home since Feb, and whilst my current PC has been okay I think it's time to upgrade my almost 10 year old system because in the event it dies on me, I will be screwed!

- I'm willing to make amendments on my build above, up to an additional £300. Anything higher would have to be extremely worthwhile, and for what I use it for I don't think that will be the case (but as mentioned, open to suggestions). I have 2 new monitors that I bought based on the above build, and budget - I specifically chose 3070 over the 3080 because I don't think I could justify the cost of 2x 4K monitors. The monitors are: https://www.gigabyte.com/Monitor/G27Q#kf

I look forward to and appreciate any responses!

Thanks.

I want to be an optimist and from what I understand tier 4 is back to how the lockdown was last spring. I think that PCS still soldiered on back then didn't they?

Also they are based outside what is currently a Tier 4 area so there is that as well.

Unfortunately I only discovered the forums and the AMD vs Intel post a few days ago. I called them during the week to ask if I could change the CPU/Motherboard to accommodate, however the staff that I spoke to advised I would have to cancel the order and place again.

Would hate to think how far back in the queue I’d be if I did that :( For that reason alone I think I will just keep the Intel CPU and upgrade to the 11th gen when it releases, or when/if my build seems lackluster. Would you guys advise against this?

Thanks, that’s good to know!

The PC is now in build 🥳

Super excited! But I guess this means it would be too late to make amendments anyway?

Ahh okay, that's not too bad.

I wouldn't want to leave it too late though - other than the AMD CPU suggestion (which I've tried but would have to cancel the order and place again), are there any other suggestions to better the build or just generally tidy up?

Thanks.

Wow in build that's cool! I ordered mine 5 days after yours with a 3070 so it's promising. I did go for a 5600x processor though which is pre-order only as well so there might be that to wait for as well.

I don't want to get my hopes up and get disappointed but the prospect of it arriving early in the new year is really nice.

I feel like the parts for mine are in a container between this EU debacle situation and a pandemic covfeve.
