Your warranty will be fine as long as you don't break/damage anything in the process.

I'm not very confident with taking PCs apart as I've never built one or done any work on them before.
I've been starting up the PC with the windows 7 disc in, pressing F8 as advised but nothing is happening. It's as though the monitor isn't plugged in to the PC.

i know this is a silly question but are you sure the monitor is plugged into power supply and turned on, by the way what is the model name/number

I've had a bit of a 'blonde moment'. I had the HDMI plugged into the mobo and not the gfx slot. This gfx has a mini HDMI which threw me off.

Thanks for your help all the same! I best buy a new cable.

The graphics card you have only has mini HDMI or DVI. Are you using a normal HDMI lead with full size at both ends? If so, then you're undoubtedly plugged into the onboard graphics.

Now I'm off to Tesco to find an HDMI to mini HDMI! Hopefully I'll have it working this evening!
