New PC Build - Any Painless Way To Make This Build A Bit Cheaper, Or Any Balancing? Thanks, Much Appreciated!!

Structural Design And Analysis Software, so need high CPU and high RAM. Basic AutoCAD and some RTS Gaming such as StarCraft II. Storage is for project backups. Projects generally +800MB. Will need the ability for 2 monitors minimum although considering a 49inch single monitor instead (any suggestions please?).

Many thanks in advance.

Kindest regards,

Ralph

Thanks SpyderTracks, I couldn't find the thread earlier hence reposting
Hiya, sorry mate, not sure how the last one got missed.

I would personally suggest an AMD build, they destroy Intel these days at this budget. A friend of mine just bought an high end AMD rig for multithreaded workloads and it's an utter monster.

What's your max budget?

No worries.
Well I did hear good stuff about the AMD but not sure how it all compares.
Budget ideally around £2k incl. VAT but can push to excl. VAT, as I would like to afford a decent 49inch curved monitor as well.

As an example on the build with notes by main amendments, just over Ex VAT, but only way to get close to your build:

Case
CORSAIR 275R AIRFLOW TEMPERED GLASS GAMING CASE Not worth scrimping on the case on a build like this, helps with airflow.
Processor (CPU)

AMD Ryzen 9 3900X 12 Core CPU (3.8GHz-4.6GHz/70MB CACHE/AM4) Absolute monster of a CPU, destroys the 9900k by some margin in multithreaded and compares in single threaded.

I would ask what the reasoning is for the 2 500Gb SSD's? Is there a reason for splitting the drives and not having one 1Tb?

As for a monitor, my mate got the BenQ PD3200U which has really good reviews.

It's a 32" 4k monitor at around £600, absolutely beautiful, saw it first hand, would highly recommend and excellent price:

If you buy from somewhere like amazon (which is actually one of the lowest costs), then they have an excellent returns policy if there happen to be any dead pixels or anything untoward.

Love You SpiderTracks!!
I have gone for the split primarily to keep Software in on drive, and keep project files in the other. Then only use the slower HD for back ups and completed projects.
I cannot be faced with partitioning the 1TB, as the cost of 2 500GB is near identical however I do see there is a slight difference in speeds. Hmmm

Yes, ear marked this one two but then it would have to be a pair.
Love the fact you can put them vertically.
I did quite fancy a curvy 49inch.. Hmmm

That makes sense then.

Just checking, sizewise I can get a couple of 27inch of the Ben Qs you mentioned, so still a good value for around £900 me thinks!
