New Order-I have my own GPU

Hi all

Just ordered a pc and selected "none, I already have my own" for the gpu. Do they install any power cables for the gpu so I can plug it in straight away and not have to worry about routing any power cables and cable management?

Thanks
Luke

If its a modular power supply you can ask them too add a cable for your GPU (if you don't, they wont). if its not a modular PSU there will be power cables there but again you may need to ask them to put said cables in the right place
There may be a way of adding notes to your order, or you may have to contact them to ask them to add the instructions

As different GPUs have different requirements, it’s a stretch to imagine they’ll put in the exact set you’d need in there... and it’ll also depend on which PSU you’ve selected. If you’ve opted for an RM or above PSU and you send a message stating the pin requirements of your sourced card, I’m sure they’d accommodate it to make your life easier.

If you can post your full system specs from the orders page it’ll provide more insight 🙂👍

Due to thermal issues, performance differences, security flaws and that they’re about to release new chips (that are still lagging behind their main competitor), we’d currently advise avoiding an Intel system and opting for an AMD based build. The thread linked below will provide a lot more insight...

Hey, I was in the same boat as you. I've ordered a PC and selected "None, will use my own GPU". What I did is email PC Specialist and they let me know that they would forward the make of my GPU as a production work order. Just make sure to send them a picture of the pins if possible.

The fastest possible drive for the OS is always advisable but worth considering a two drive option. Fast for OS but could be smaller, 500 GB then a storage drive.

You may have to do a clean Windows install at some point and that wipes the drive so having a second saves all your data and stuff.

3 things to note about that spec:

1) If you are only going with the single hard drive, then I would recommend changing the PCS SSD to the 1TB PCS M.2 SSD for an extra £8 as it is 4 times quicker than the one you selected (you will find a separate dropdown box for M.2 drives)

2) Faster RAM. You want 3200MHz minimum reallly.

3) Up the warranty to Silver for £5 to give much better cover
Hi, I have already upgraded the ram to 3200mhz. I decided to only go with 3200mhz as I have my own IT company and am waiting for our suppliers to get stock of some corsair vengeance LPX 4600MHZ.
I already have a Samsung 970 Evo plus 2TB M.2 which I will install and will then use that as a boot drive then use the pcs SSD for storage.

Hi all

my build is currently in pre-production and pcs have confirmed all parts are instock. How long is it taking at the moment for orders to move from pre production to in building?

It will take longer but I suggest you check the posts here on AMD, they are far better CPUs now. Would be better to cancel and submit new order.

Already got an AMD Ryzen 7 5800x for my other pc and keep having issues with it especially with Ryzen master and crashing. Tried 2 new cpus and keep having the same issues. Also changed the board so lost faith with amd. Never had an issue with intel I know that amd is better than intel at the moment and the security flaws but need a pc that's gonna work.

Are you sure it was AMD, not the compatibility, drivers or something else?

As I have my own IT business it was a demo unit sent out to us by our supplier who are partners with amd. Once we received it we then decided to purchase the machine from them instead of sending it back. Was all working for a bit then the issues started. Had it sent back a couple times and keeps coming back with the same issue. Currently waiting for a whole replacement system but haven't got an ETA yet
