New Motherboard and processor not working

So i brought myself a new motherboard and processor for an upgrade on my pc, These are the parts i got:

Gigabyte Z97X-Gaming 5 Intel LGA1150 Z97 ATX Motherboard (4x DDR3, 6x USB3.0, 8x USB2.0, HDMI, DVI-I, DSUB) (http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00K9R1H1K?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o05_s00)

Intel Core i5 4690K Processor (3.5 GHz, 6 MB Cache, LGA1150 Socket) (http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00KPRWB9G?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o05_s00)

and the original power supply i have is the corsair cx 500 watt.

When i had the parts in i go to start my pc everything turns on but i get no display on my monitor, i tried using a different display adapter and also tried using a fresh hard drive with nothing on it as it is a new motherboard.
I Checked the wiring and everything is ok on that side and also checked the pins on the motherboard for the cpu and they are ok so i'm really confused on what the problem is.

Really could use some help as i can't return the items now as it has been longer than a month.

May sound silly but are you definitely connecting the monitor correctly?

I'm assuming you have a dedicated graphics card so are you definitely connecting the monitor to that rather than the Motherboard?

Hey there :)

What you are experiencing is what we in the support world call a "No Post/No Video" scenario. There's something that is not getting power or there is a faulty piece of hardware causing the early-POST process to fail. In the old days, you would get very loud beeps from the motherboard that would indicate what exactly the early POST process had failed. Don't get me wrong, it's still there. People just don't connect the PC Speaker, so you don't hear them. On newer motherboards today, however, you get LED codes directly from the motherboard, that suggest where exactly in the init-process the motherboard currently is.

To start with, please find the manual for your motherboard here: http://download.gigabyte.eu/FileList/Manual/mb_manual_ga-z97x-gaming5_e.pdf

Going forward I suggest the following:
a) Strip the PC to a minimum config state. Remove all but 1 memory block, remove the external GPU if you have one, and disconnect power + SATA cables for all devices. Disconnect all other PCI Cards as well, if installed
b) Verify the ATX12V and the main ATX24V connector is properly seated. Re-seat the if necessary. Refer to this if needed:

c) Plug power cables back in, but don't turn on the PC yet. Before turning it on again, please proceed to clear the CMOS. Refer to page 31 in your motherhoard manual. (Don't use this switch, while the system is turned on!)
d) Try turning on your PC now in a minimum config state. Seeing as you don't have an external GPU, you would have to use your onboard GPU, for troubleshooting purposes.
e) If it still doesn't work, proceed to make 100% sure the CPU is properly seated.

EDIT: By the looks of manual for your board (GA-Z97X-Gaming 5 not 7), it doesn't look like we get debug LED codes to tell us exactly where in the process it's going bad, so hopefully the above will give you a pointer towards what the problem is. Do make sure the memory module you are using is tested good, and confirmed working as well.
