Hi All,

After good few years I finally decided to build a laptop and this is what it will look like. It will be used mainly for gaming and video edit and some music production. Will do review once I'll get it.

Only adjustment I'd make is at least Silver warranty for £5

What's the reasoning for the M2 layout? 500gb for OS and 128 Gb for?

Oh I see, for me them enough I have 1tb external disk, I wouldnt like to put everything in the laptop for security reasons but yea i was thinking 128 would be small so amended to 512 and also silver thanks for tip mate :).
im also coming from old msi gt73vr 7re which had 2x256GB only but was quite enough anyway for me but it was hell of the problems with that thing lol

You have an empty SATA drive bay, why not put a large capacity HDD in there? That will perform way better than a USB attached external drive.

no because I dont need that, otherwise I would defo go with ssd, but i also think (maybe im wrong) but without hdd there will be 'more' space for hot air to escape? but like i said i dont really need that much space and since i had m2 i wouldnt use anything else to be honest unless i would need then i would upgrade

This was kind of my point, two 500Gb M2's doesn't make a lot of sense without a storage drive.

Having a 2.5 drive won't affect thermals at all.

sorry for off topic I'm sure I read somewhere about delivery option that you replied regarding using dpd app,, I had a question, if my laptop would be build and tested on Friday lets say, will I be able to change delivery to either Saturday or Sunday so I don't need to wait till Monday? I know I could do it via website but is it possible to do it via app? Or it wont work as it would be a day before despatch? sorry for all question. thanks,

I think if it was despatched on friday, even if you changed it through the app to Saturday delivery it wouldn’t be delivered til the next week. I’m pretty sure for next day delivery on a Saturday they despatch it straight to the receivers local depot, whereas if it wasn’t expecting to be delivered til the Monday it would just go to a regional depot. Best to ask PCS though.

you can amend delivery times and days through the app and pay for a better delivery option and all that, but that specific scenario I don’t think would work.

I think I wait and see how the process goes if the laptop will be build I will change it via website because I am a bit concern about this hype regarding coronavirus if everything will be shut down and I ll be home without a laptop that would be a nightmare lol.

Yeah, it is all getting a bit too real isn’t it. I’d give PCS a call just to clarify with them, if possible, I’d opt for the quick building option for 3 or 5 days also.

The government are set to announce further measures coming into effect tonight I believe.

yea its a nightmare tbh, i also phoned them on friday if it makes any difference to amend a fast track but i was told it wouldnt change anything as it was too late, im goin to wait and see what the situation will looks like with the building status and government, my order is 6th day in pre production but after i emailed pcs this morning they replied that my laptop should go to build tomorrow and that i should have receive it till end of the week so hopefully that be the case, I dont mind waiting but the situation is pretty bad dont want to stay isolated without a pc lol i just hope it will fit in a time till everything will be shut like iin other countries

Fingers crossed, once in building it usually shipped within 24 hours so I’d hope you’d have it by the end of the week.

there is no isolation without a PC and internet??? God, no! I’m sure it will be fine. Keep us posted :)
