New laptop issues

The laptop does not want te to recognize my monitor through the USB-C to display port feature. HDMI works fine but then I am limited to 60hz. Any suggestion?

It is new and it works fine with other devices like my brothers' HP laptop and even my Samsung Galaxy s8.
I have the latest game-ready drivers installed for the RTX 3070 using the Nvidia Gforce experience software.

According to the "features" tab of that cable, it's only compatible with certain Dell models:

Also, only one of the USB C ports carries display, so if it doesn't work in one, try the other.

I installed all drivers that are on the download page except amd raid and thx spacial sound.

If you've installed all drivers from your download section then windows is likely not configured correctly as a lot will be out of date, as previously advised you need to let windows install any drivers and then manually install the remainder.
Ok, I will try to re-install windows tonight.
I installed everything from the download page because the wifi module was not working because it did not have a driver.
I'll do it differently tonight and only install the wifi driver and let windows figure it out on its own and then install the rest of the drivers it could not find.

Forgive a software guy talking about hardware, but could the issue with DP1.2 over this USB-C port be related to that AMD CPU? I note that Thunderbolt 4 is only available with Intel CPUs and I wonder whether DP1.2 is also an Intel only feature (even though it doesn't say so in the spec)?
Do we know for sure that DP1.2 output is supported over that USB-C port in an AMD build?

The specs of identical laptops say USB-C 3.2 Gen2 (DisplayPort 1.4: yes, G-SYNC compatible | Power Delivery: no). And it is advertised on the PCS website to support display port over USB-C.

yes but the capabilities will be different if its an AMD cpu or an Intel, as with intel it will be thunderbolt 4

Has the USB-c port never worked?
Have you 'jolted' the laptop in anyway - Im not saying dropped or anything, but moved it etc.
It might be worth opening it up if you feel confident enough and checking for any loose wire that might correspond with the USB-c port - it might just be a case of clip it back in if it came loose / knocked loose during transit or anything.
If not, then if all the drivers have been installed and you have no missing devices listed (which looks to be the case) then you might have to RMA it.
