New Laptop advice please

Hi,

I'm looking at buying a new laptop to replace my old Optimus which has served me well but is showing its age now.

Mainly i'll be using this laptop for gaming and watching movies when away from home. I'll use it to play a mixture of strategy games like Civ 6, Total War, Frostpunk etc, and the odd AAA title, Resident Evil 2 and Sekiro being the two most recent I've played. I've looked at both the Vortex and the 17.3 Recoil (which I've read has better cooling than the 15.6), but am leaning more towards the Vortex due to it having G-Sync which I've been told is quite important.

Generally I drive to location so I'm not too worried about carrying it around on a train/plane weight wise, but I've read that the battery life on the Recoil is particularly poor - but i can't see myself using this for long times unplugged. I've been unable to find many reviews on the Vortex chassis (I think the vortex is a PB50RF but the PB51 Clevo Chassis seemed to have good thermal reviews).

A bigger screen would be nice, but at 144hz would i benefit from having G-Sync over a bigger screen?

Total budget is approx £1600 - £1800. If anyone could give me any input on the systems below I would be most grateful.

Also is there much benefit of using a Samsung QVO as my second storage drive over a 1TB HHD 7200rpm? It would mainly be used for storing music, videos and photos.

Thank you
