new graphics card has 12 pin pcie power connector

Looking at the specs of the 8gb RTX 3070 TI graphics card that I have just ordered it states that it has a 12 pin power connector on the card (but an 8pin to 12 pin adaptor comes in the box).

on the manufacturers website it states it needs 2 x PCIe 8-pin), what would happen if I only had one available ? or should there normally be spare ones coming from the power supply ? (I do have a 750w power supply fitted to the pc )

any comments / suggestions would be appreciated

Is this for a PC Specialist machine that you're upgrading?

If so, it would help if you could post your full spec from your account page, so we can see what other components you've got.

You would need two separate pcie 8 pin cables from the PSU and both would need to be plugged into the gpu.

You'd have to check, depends which model you stated you had. The welcome box would contain all spare cables so it may just need a secondary cable fitting.

The TXm 750 just comes with a single Pcie cable with a double 6+2 connector at the GPU end so would work, but ideally you'd want to get another Pcie cable with just a single 6+2 connector, or to make things look even better 2 of them so you don't have a spare 6+2 hanging around
