New gpu installed - no monitor signal

I received a rx7900xtx today. Upon installing and attempting to boot the pc, no signal is sent to the monitor. I previously had a rtx3070. I used DDU to remove the drivers for it, shut down the pc and then installed the new gpu. The cables are connected securely and all the fans are spinning on the gpu. It only boots to safe mode. Othwise the screen stays boack. I'm using a display port cable that was working fine with the previous gpu. My specs are as follows: cpu: ryzen 7 5800x3d. 16gb corsair ram at 3200mhz. PSU: Seasonic prime gx-850. Motherboard: asus rog strix b450f gaming. I installed the most recent bios update when I installed the Ryzen cpu a few months ago. Thank you for the help in advance!

If you mean that you get a display in Safe Mode then your issue is likely with the graphics driver. In Safe Mode only Microsoft drivers are loaded, so you'll be using the Windows Basic Display driver.

Are you sure you have the driver for the new card properly installed?

Is this a PCS system? This forum is for PCS customers :)

Edit: Just noticed that it's the spec that's changed a bit hence the irregular parts.

Do you still have the old GPU that you can test with? It definitely sounds like driver issues to me. It's as if windows has been disabled from installing the drivers when in normal mode.

I only uninstalled the previous drivers for the nvidia gpu. I didn't install the AMD driver's before adding the gpu to the pc. Should I have installed the drivers beforehand?

No, Windows should automatically install at least basic drivers. There's definitely something conflicting with the previous driver or a setting somewhere.

I would log in in safe mode with networking and download/install the AMD drivers. That way when you reboot at least the proper drivers will be available.
