New gaming rig check - 1500ish

Hi all - did get a spec checked back in Feb but with a house move found myself putting things off so would appreciate a once over of this.

Aim - 1440p high refresh gaming.

Games played - Total War III, Warhammer 40k, D2R, will get involved in more shooters/adventure style games.

Monitor (1440p) - appreciate opinions here. I am tempted by the LG 850gp-b tbh. Have considered Dell S2721 dgfa and Gigabyte M27qp. I'm in the thought process I'll be looking at it constantly so don't mind going up to £400 on the monitor (let me know price/performance though I'm not rolling in cash!).

Budget - 1500 (or as close as you can get) this is excluding the monitor.

Will post link below with some thoughts on certain items. Thanks in advance.

GPU - Am waiting for Nov 3rd announcement but in reality not sure how long I'd have to wait for low/mid range 7000 series GPUs to hit the market. I don't have a playable PC at the moment and I'll make one or two upgrades in next 5 years perhaps anyway.

CPU/AM4 - granted I know it's a dead gen but figure I can upgrade to a 5800x3d if I need to and that seems to be a powerful gaming CPU given benchmarks competing with current gen CPUs.

PSU - would like advice on RMx Vs RMe as aware 850 would perhaps be a better one for future upgrades but I think the quality of the RMx is higher?

Cooler - granted I've seen stock mentioned as good enough for the 5600 but I dont mind spending a bit more on something to keep things a touch cooler.

It's a pretty good build at that price point to be fair, looks well balanced. the 6750XT looks a good 1440p GPU, even 60fps 4K if you upgrade monitor in future. And I agree that if you find CPU is proving a bottleneck in games, upgrade to 5800X3D is easy step to take.

Re PSU, the RMe is obviously slightly lower spec than the RMx, but it's still a very good PSU from a solid brand. So if you're keen on having headroom for future upgrades, I don't think going for 850RMe would be a poor decision.

Thanks Robin. The 6750xt is cheaper than the 6700xt on the PCS spec sheet so figure more performance at lower cost then why not. I was mulling over going low spec with a 6600 and doing a GPU update early next year but the 6750xt should have enough legs for a little while before I start tinkering with things.

If I had a bit of faith in myself I could spec this minus a GPU and source a 6800xt for almost the same cost and install it myself. (Perhaps after today things may reduce a touch more). I'm not very clued up on tech but is installing a new GPU relatively painless? Figure with the 6800xt I'll probably be set and forget for a while longer. (Will upgrade to 850 RMe).

Plug it into the slot, do up the retaining screw, plug in the power leads, fire it up and install the drivers
