Hi all,

Please can you give me your advice on the below spec? I predominately play FPS games and will be looking to play BF5 etc. Could you please also give me advice on the monitor as well. I am starting this from scratch so will also need to buy peripherals etc. For this pc.

I am new to this so apologies if the below is rubbish.

David

The rtx 2080 super is out at the end of the month and it’s gonna be the same price as the rtx 2080 . It’s gonna be a lot better aswell

Up to a TXM PSU, they're modular so improve airflow in the case and generally much higher quality.

That monitor is wasted on a 2080 ti, the card is totally overpowered for it. An RTX 2060 would be more suitable.

If you're looking at the 2080 ti, then consider a 1440p 144Hz GSync like the Dell S2716DG currently on a very good deal at Amazon:

At least silver warranty which is only £5 and offers a lot more coverage.

Thank you for the response. I have chosen the standard 2080 as opposed to the 2080ti - would I still need a monitor such as the one you have posted?

How does the rest of the system look? I would upgrade the PSU as recommended.

If you don't want to wait for the RTX 2080 Super at the end of the month, the RTX 2060 and 2070 Super are released tomorrow. the RTX 2070 Super is meant to be close in performance to the base 2080 for a lot cheaper. You could use the savings on some decent peripherals and a nice monitor.

Just to stress though, if you're going to be keeping your current monitor, there's literally zero point to anything over a 1660 really.

Anything over that just won't be used.

Thanks for the advice. I will most likely go with the monitor you mentioned earlier but go for the RTX 2070 super instead of the 2080. Thank you all for your help.
