New gaming laptop - take it or wait?

Hi everyone,

Towards the end of 2024 I posted about a laptop that I had ordered in PCS using the chassis, CPU, and graphic card available at that time. I am definitely not an expert, and was very happy with my choices (having picked top range items for everything), but thank to this community I have seen reason and understood that I was going to splash my savings for something that would have been born old and dangerously inefficient. I cancelled the order and following @SpyderTracks advice, I decided to wait for the new GPUs and CPUs (AMD's, specifically) to become available.

I had a look at what is in stock now. I understand that things are moving a bit slower than expected so, my first question is: do you think that this is the right time to invest on a great and durable gaming laptop, or would you advice to keep waiting for a bit?

If the latter, happy to wait. You guys gained my trust completely last November! If the former is true, though, this below is what I am thinking of. My ideal solution would be a gaming desktop replacement which could stay awesome and snappy as long as possible. Again, I do not know what I am doing, so do feel free to talk to me like you would do with a child who wants the most ridiculous toy at the shop.

It depends from where you're coming from. I'm currently rocking an RTX 2070 Super from 2019 in a mid-size tower. Need to downsize and go mobile so it feels the perfect time for me to pull the trigger on a new 5090 laptop. Especially at this price...

I'm configuring the SAME build as you but I have two questions for you and/or others:
1. Hearing different things between Intel and AMD CPU chips...one is better at single tasks and the other is better at multi task. Your thoughts?
2. I'm struggling to find reviews of the Recoil series as it relates to build quality, durability, screen quality, hinge quality, keyboard quality, battery life (although won't be playing un-plugged very often), etc. etc.
