New Flight Sim PC

Building a new Flight Sim PC. I like to play other games on it too. Budget is £2k. 4k monitor @ 60Hz. Spec'd this PC on here tonight. Would be good to know your thoguhts. I am torn between the 3060 with 12gb of VRAM and lower cost or the 3080 with 10GB VRAM and much higher cost. 8GB of VRAM is too low for my taste :) . I am also curious about AMD chips. Never had one but wonder if I am missing a trick.

Hi there! I'd say you are indeed missing a trick with not going AMD, Intel are a long way behind at the moment and I'd suggest giving this a read if you're curious as to why.

A question about monitors- is the 4K 60hz screen one you already own? I feel a 1440p 144hz ultrawide would give a much more enjoyable experience if you have the choice going into this. If the 4K 60hz screen is one you do already own, I'd personally be looking at the 3070 or above for an enjoyable experience

Yes indeed, having read that I might go and spec an AMD build and see. On the point of OC'd CPU's the flightsim works the CPU much harder than the GPU and and OC'd CPU has a big advantage in that respect.

I already have the 4k monitor @ 60Hz. If an AMD build is cheaper then a 3070 might fit in the budget.
