No, I'll try it now

The card itself fits but getting the DisplayPort connector in is a very tight fit, so I dremmel toold its edges to fit. If I00% knew ths was the issue i'd chuck the warrantry and remove parts of the grill on the back, personally. But obviously not doing that anytime soon.
What did you use a dremmel on

The bulky plastic on one end of the connector. Had to be done or the DisplayPort cable wouldnt fit into the graphics card enough :(so I sloped the edges. The desktop pc is untouched by tHe DRiLl though...

Can you elaborate.

I have 2 slots for the card. One it won't fit on as something is blocking the card to sit there. That leaves the main slot where it fits although to fit a connection (DisplayPort, HDMI) the gaps at the back where you remove the plates/strips are far too narrow. Apart from stating it would ring alarm bells (as that is obvious, you can see the value in OP) what would you suggest? This was the case for both DP cables I own.

The only compatability trial I could put the pieces through was what would be put together on the PCS website and when they build it. Why would I pay for them to build something that would ring alarm bells? I imagine the 3080 (the intended and desired card) would have the same issues as the 3070?

Thx

How is the reinstall going ?

How is the reinstall going ?
I couldnt reinstall straight away due to "The computer restarted unexpectedly or encountered and unexpected error. Windows installation cannot proceed..." error kept looping and restarting with this. finishing putting it onto a USB and will go from there.

I'd love to provide pictures but as already mentioned they are too large even when I remove HDR option from my phone. IDK, I'll look for another way in a second and take what photos I can. The card has prongs that are too long so the top needed to be bent over the lip to fit into its pcie (?) slot. Since it boots in safemode I'm assuming it is conncted properly.

Cheers guys

something sounds extremely wrong there, maybe host the photos on somewhere like one drive and link to them

We love you Ukraine
The card doesn't look to be in the slot correctly, it will fit flush with the screw inputs on the bracket when it's properly in place.

These spacings have been standard for decades, and cases and cards are built to well established tolerances. If it's not fitting it's because it's not in properly or the case has bent somehow.

If you're taking a dremmel to any kind of technology, then there's something wrong, you would never ever need to do that.

Can you take a photo showing the full internals so we can see the general layout?

There is no way that card is installed properly

Uploading a video now not sure its what youre looking for but hopefully will help.

With the slots of the graphics card in the card slots on the mobo this is the only way it fits.

edit

You can see the gpu end of the DisplayPort cable is intact. The end currently connected to the monitor was the end that was messed with. The GPU end is a tight fit and the card is tense, I would say.

The card wold not sit in the pcie slots on the mobo if i hadnt raised the piece of metal that screws it onto the case, as obviously thats what Im lining it up with.

So the card is simply too big?

Going to have dinner then start the windows install so I can watch it and remove USB when windows restarts to avoid some looping type errir that Robtech guy says to avoid.

Greatly appreciate all input this far.

edit2 Uploadeding a longer video before dinner after which ill start the windows install. I've fit a few graphics cards in my time (Literally, I'm clearly no expert) but I've never had any problems like this i.e not fittings, leads being difficult to simply place in due to case sizing etc.

you need to change access rights to that to public
Done. Ive tried to show it from different angles and angles of what I'm saying. if anythings clearly wrong though, I do not see it. I can't get the card to fit ANY OTHER WAY let alone fit any other way while still being in the mobo pcie :(

edit Just seen that while the display port cable IS fully pushed in, the card itsrlf is at an ever so slight angle due to the top rail where you'd screw it in being in the way, so it may not be properly seated?? But you can see the prongs on the bottom are too long and are making contact with something (case frame likely?) underneath in the small gap between mobo/case. Would this be an issue since it does make it to desktop in safemode but not in normal?

I have windows on USB, should I still reinstall it?

Your gpu is 100% not seated properly.

Also it looks bent?

Are you plugging it into the correct pcie lane?

When you push the card in, either push from the left or the centre, don’t push in on right as it won’t be mounted properly when it is secured.

Once it is in properly, try to gentle dislodge it without pressing the latch, to make sure it is secure. Then screw it into the case.
