New Custom PC Build (£4k budget)

Hey,

New to the Forums and just looking on advice on anything that I should change with my specification or if it's ok as is.

This is the spec I'm planning to go for:
Case: Corsair Crystal 680x
CPU: Intel i9 10980XE
Motherboard: Asus ROG Strix X299-E Gaming II

So that's the spec that I'm planning to go for with a budget of £4k it hits just above which I can live with.
I know a little about PC hardware in general but not very experienced, I know that some things are overkill especially the PSU that I've specified.
I went for the 10980XE because I maybe plan to stream in a few months, and I tend to multitask a lot with 2-3 monitors whilst I play my games etc.
The system will be used for gaming whilst watching streams, YouTube videos, web browsing etc and like I said possibly streaming in the future.
I am dead set on the case which is why I've gone for the H100i because I've read that other CPU coolers don't fit very well in there with the case fans, and I've also added the option of 5 extra RGB case fans, I'm a bit dumb in this area and not sure how the case fans mix in with the CPU cooler radiator, maybe that's dumb to say idk.

Anyway... any advice or any comments are appreciated, thanks for any help in advance

The 10980XE is a waste of money. Pretty much in any scenario, but certainly for the one you've described.

It even loses out to the AMD R9 3950X in gaming as often a not, and the 3950X would be the one to recommend here if you were definitely streaming.

Frankly it could make more sense to buy a system that can stream fairly well, but costs a lot less money, and then if you really do get into streaming, buy a separate streaming PC. And if you just stream a bit, stick with the more balanced PC, saving you £500-£800.

As for multitasking on other monitors, unless you are rendering videos in Adobe Premiere while also gaming at the same time, the demands are trivial - you don't need a monster CPU to have a load of chrome tabs open, and watch a video while gaming. Nor do you get the slightest benefit from doing so.

Drop the cheap sound card
RMx PSUs are great, no need for more than the above unless e.g. you plan to render in Octane and need multiple graphics cards
2 x 2TB SSDs are a waste. The above should do fine. if you really want 4TB of SSD, get a single 4TB SSD
32gb RAM is a waste for the uses described. Not futureproof at all, just a waste, Stick to 16gb.
PCIe 4.0 SSD because why not for this budget

Hey, thanks for the replies,

I am wanting Intel for my CPU, just from how I've grown up really, assosiating Intel as the premium brand over AMD, that may not be the case anymore but I will be sticking with Intel just for my own peace of mind.
I've looked at the i9 9900KS (which are not listed on PCS anymore) and was considering it, I then considered the X series as a step up to be able to handle more multi-tasking if needed, and I thought why not go for the the 10980XE.
The reason I was going for 32GB of RAM was that I currently have 16GB and it tends to be the one thing in my system that throttles first.
Also I was planning on just 3200MHz as I've read that anything beyond that is pointless really with minimal gains in gaming, perhaps I'm wrong.
I still plan on buying the cheap sound card as I've got a soundcard from Creative Sound Blaster already and I love the options for bass etc.
I guess the 1200W HX was just overkill really, I thought about purchasing another GPU in the near future, maybe even the 1000W RMx PSU will do, or even the 850W like you suggested.
I wanted 2 x SSDs as they are around £50 cheaper to buy seperately, but my main reason was so that I can use one dedicated to my Steam games and the other for anything else outside of Steam, the 8TB just for storage etc.
The Corsair M.2 would be good too, but I can't see it as an option to buy on any M.2 or PCI-E drop down on the configurator.
I won't be rendering videos anytime soon but I may do in the future (not concrete), but I do plan to use Adobe for photo software in the future, as photography is a hobby that I'm interested in starting but haven't as of yet.

The monitors that I use now are Dell 23.5" 1440p (2k) 165Hz, I currently use 2 of them, but plan to get a 3rd 27inch monitor, probably 1440p too.

The X series isn't a step up, it's the same architecture with more cores that that run slower and which you don't need ,not even for nebulous futureproofing, if 16gb RAM bottlenecks your system there are uses you're not telling us about or there is a software issue, faster RAM can have benefits or I'd not have bothered suggesting it, motherboards have very good options for audio, multi GPU is almost never the right way to go, you can divide things on SSDs with folders or partitions, the Corsair SSD is PCIe 4.0 which is something Intel doesn't have nor will it even be in a position to offer with the socket 1200 refresh.

You've kind of just decided you want expensive stuff just because you can, rather than because it is either appropriate for your needs or the best performance or value, which is fine as it's your money, you earned it, you spend it how you wish, but it'd save everyone time if you didn't bother asking for feedback or pretend there are actual justifications for the spend

Well, I was just trying to explain my reasoning to choosing Intel over AMD and some other things just to save any questions on the matter after.
I was looking for advice on things but also giving my own opinions.

I think @Oussebon is just trying to break the Intel fandom which is leading you down a really poor value and performance path.

We will always try to endeavor to get the most value out of a build.

If you look at literally any single review of ANY of the 10000 series Intels, you'll see exactly the same feedback:

I'm afraid not, nothing so noble as trying to break the fandom, I was annoyed at having wasted my time giving advice that was never going to be engaged with.

It wasn't a conversation, it was "I want an 18 core Intel CPU for multitasking" - despite not actually multitasking in a way that will utilise the processor or even the R9 3950X tbh.

If someone wants to showcase deep pockets, that's fine, but dressing it up as a request for input is pretty dashed unfair.

I was actually open to you possibly suggesting another Intel CPU, but instead you decide to reply in this way.
I apologise if I've come across badly at all, I wasn't at all saying that's what I wanted, I was just going off the fact that I've always seen Intel as more reliable because of previous performance and reviews.
I am seriously considering AMD because of your original thread, and I have already seen those videos that Spyder kindly posted.
