Hey, this is my second PC Spec. build and just want some advice on if its good or not. Looking to upgrade cpu to 5950x in the future. I mainly use my pc for gaming. (currently have i5-6600k and being bottlenecked by most games) I also have a 2tb hdd in my old pc along with a 240gb ssd that I could install if I need more space.

Thank you in advance!

If you plan to upgrade to the 5950x in future and this is a definite plan, then you need to put the Rog Strix X570 motherboard in there...you also need the Corsair H115i RGB Platinum cooler (unless you plan to upgrade the cooler at a later date). I would ask if there's a particulr reason for putting in the 5950x? For gaming, it won't give any performance over the 5900x, and probably even the 5800x given majority of games are GPU dominated.
Is the B-550plus not compatible with it and its not a definite plan on the 5950x but will be one of the new CPUs that released this month. Why will I need the different cooler? Is it not that good?
Thank you

The 5950x needs the extra VRMs that the board has....they basically regulate the voltage keeping it more stable. Cooler is similar..it needs a more robust cooler to keep it cool, anything less may struggle to cope. A lot depends on how you plan to use the system though as the 5950x may not even be the best choice
Oh okay, will what I've got selected atm be compatible with the 5900x? Plan on mainly using it for gaming, probably not overclocking anything apart from gpu as have done that before.

5900X is definitely enough for gaming, 5950X is only better if you're doing any work that might use CPU. There are exceptions such as MSFS, but in most cases, the price difference is not worth it

The CPU shouldn't be bottlenecking games unless you are using CPU based games....majority of AAA games are GPU bottlenecked. I guess it depends what level of gaming you are trying to run at.....for example, trying to run 1440p 144Hz will be bottlenecked by the GPU, if you only have a 1080p 75Hz then the screen will be the bottleneck.

For gaming, you don't even need the 5900x....the 5600x or maybe the 5800x are plenty (I have gamed using a 3600 without issue). I would go with the 5600x as it should be plenty...this spec will also give you the infrastructure if you wanted a more powerful CPU in future (would still need the Strix motherboard for the 5900x though):

Thanks for doing this its very helpful :) I run games at 1440p 60 fps, and games like ac odyssey and RDR2 are all being bottlenecked by cpu (thats at 100% in dense areas but gpu is at 10%)

That's likely an issue with your windows configuration, not the CPU, that CPU should be fine in any game at the moment.

AT 1440p, I'd say that your system usage should be the other round....when running Forza Horizon 4 (a middle ground in terms of graphics), 1440p 60Hz is utilising around 50% of my GPUs capacity...it does drop to around 25% when in menus etc but is around the 50% mark most of the rest of the time....admittedly that is with the settings set to Ultra. Still I'd expect those 2 games you mentioned to be utilising a lot more than 10% GPU capacity regardless of where in the game you are
Even when I put settings to ultra and run a benchmark, it doesnt even out in usage but the frames just get worse.

What do I need to do to fix it?
No idea, you'll have to troubleshoot it. But that's not working the way it should be.

You ordered without windows, so what method did you use to install windows? Where did you source the windows installation? Did you delete all existing partitions? Where did you source drivers?

I know it’s on my HDD, but I didn’t install it on my old pc that was done by pc specialist, I selected I already have it for the new build cause it’s linked to my Microsoft account. That’s all I know though

If you ordered without windows, you can’t use the test installation that comes with the PC, you have to install your own copy from scratch.

Your PC has never been configured so has never worked by the sounds of it. If you don’t understand how to configure windows, it’s worth paying the extra to have PCS do it.
