New build for a Samsung G7 32"

Hi all,

Would like some advice on my build please. Going to be used primarily for gaming on a Samsung G7 32" (240hz). Trying to keep under 2k. Was originally looking at the 5800x with a 3060 GPU but always preferred to get the best CPU with a new build as GPU easier to upgrade later... Can anyone confirm the Samsung 980 M.2 SSD significantly outperforms the 970 as that would allow me to save a bit of money and potentially even go for a 5900 CPU if I save up another month.
Finally, I'm looking to keep this as quiet as possible due to the room it will be in. I would consider splashing out on the Be quiet! case if it was worth it...just have to get over the orange bits, but if there is anything else I can improve in that area please let me know.

appreciate the build you linked but is it mainly the GPU that makes my build unsuitable for my G7 or something else?
I don't need Wifi and not sure of benefit of the 2 SSD's? I was thinking the fastest biggest single drive for me to keep games on and just a single good old HDD for document and file storage?

Am I wrong to go for the more powerful CPU?

If quietness is your goal, you could order the Fractal Define 7 from somewhere else and send it in to PCS. It's around £150.

I'd also note that mechanical hard drives are not silent when being used; an all-SSD setup is always going to be quieter. Finally, I think the Corsair H100i would be the ideal quiet cooler for that CPU, though I'm not absolutely sure of that.

You are correct on the cooler, i just couldn’t get it in budget.

The 5800 is faster and better than 3900 cpu as it is newer. For gaming the 5800 blows the 3900 out of the water.

One storage drive is just for OS and programmes where speed is critical and the second is for games, you could remove the HDD if you want.

Also if you don’t need bluetooth and wifi, you can remove the wifi card.

This is a great 1080p, but your monitor is a very high refresh rate 1440p monitor. The 3060 really doesn’t perform well at 1440p.

I would say... go with my build and drop the wifi card and HDD and add the H100i cooler.

Personally i have a 4000D with a 5800X, 3070 and an overkill cooler and it runs perfectly and near enough silent.

For £8 difference, you might as well upgrade the PCS SATA SSD to a PCS M.2 SSD
