I think I may have been misled first by the documentation for the 5000X, which has this picture suggesting they are separate connectors

and then by the PCPartPicker website, which actually says one of the Type As won't work with the Tuf X570, and it also says that for the Strix X570-F. I think I have contributed misinformation and I apologise!

So I believe weather it's 3.1 or 3.2, it's the same USB header and should work fine.

So you'll only get usb 3.1 speeds, but it will plug in fine to the 3.2 header.

Question - Connecting USB 3.x front ports to USB 3.2 motherboard connectors

My new motherboard has one US 3.2 Gen 2 10 Gbps Type C connector and one USB 3.2 Gen 1 5 Gbps connector. My Fractal Design case has one USB 3.1 Gen 2 Type C front port and two USB 3.0 fronts ports. Which ports can I connect to the motherboard and what cables and adaptors would I need?
