I've also got another identical build quote saved in PCS except the CPU is an i7-10700k and the mobo is a Z490-Plus, but I'm leaning towards AMD right now.
Primarily a gaming PC.
Budget is ~£2000 but willing to go £100ish above that.
No 1440p monitor yet though I plan to buy a 27" one in the near future if I can. If anyone has any suggestions for one that doesn't break the bank that'd be great!
While a 1000w PSU might seem a bit much, I figured it'd save me from having to buy a new one if I decide to upgrade in another 5+ years since they seem to last a while (my current rig is about 5 years old).
Would love to hear some feedback :)

Looks like a strong build but there's a few places where this could be adjusted- namely Mobo, Storage setup and CPU cooler. Is there any reason why you went for the storage setup you did?

Few things I would point out, don't bother with the special cooling paste as its not needed and some components come with their own paste that's better. Hard drive configurations are a bit all over the place. Why so many different ones? Power supply is overkill for the components, but that's fine for future upgradability. No wifi there, if thats on purpose fine. And no windows can be messy if you dont know what you are doing.

Is there a reason why the storage setup? twin SSD is confusing me too.
The motherboard isnt a great match for the CPU, its not gaining you anything, and the power unit, is there a reason?

I would be very cautious about the extra fans and stuff too... I think theres a lot that I would look at changing to balance it properly.

With some adjustments you could upgrade to a Ryzen 7 5800X.I've reduced the storage a lot 500GB 980 for OS, then I'd add a 2nd 1TB PCS M.2 for games (configurator isn't letting me for some reason) Then a 2TB HDD for all your general files. If thats not enough, I could have a reconfigure and see if we can fit in more. With the 1TB PCS SSD it should come to £2,015ish

Thanks for this, I was wondering about the mobo.

Just curious, why would you say to be cautious about the extra fans?

The case youve picked comes with a fan controller already, and ideally, you want to only put reasonable fans in, not the basic ones/cheap ones you have picked. Extra fans are also not always a good thing, you need to look at the case and the setup as a whole, you also need to put quality in if you want quiet and decent pull on them.

Junior has posted a build with a AIO that has twin RGB fans already anyway, so thats an option too

I'd debated between the Ryzen 5600x and 5800x, but wasn't sure if I'd benefit from the 5800x if it's going to mostly be for gaming. I suppose if I go for a 5600x I'm better off with the B550 mobo.
Definitely going to go for the 980 M2 drive though.

Ah I see. That's good to know.

You know, I might just remove the extra fans too if I go with a 5600x/B550, it sounds like they might be overdoing it with that setup.

If you put a AIO in like Junior has said, it will be put into the roof anyway, and you have front and rear fans with the case already.

If you stick with the coolermaster 212 then the three fans will go in the roof. For a few quid extra PCS does coolermaster sickle flow one... so as a bare minimum at least take that...

Thank you! Only thing to note is the RGB RAM is very tall and may interfere with the AIO being top mounted, if it's too big they'll have to front mount the AIO. I'm sure with a bit of research you could find out if it fits, alterntatively, you could contact PCS and ask before ordering.

Or you could just get the Non-RGB RAM and then it definitely won't be an issue 😂

Now you just need a monitor to match... you'd be looking at about £300 to £400 for a worthwhile 1440p monitor.
For 2K, you could easily trim the build and get a monitor from the same pot, not sure if you have a seperate fund or not, plus PCS selection isnt amazing.

Theres some decent ones on offer sometimes too, have a good look around.

For a 1440p 144hz monitor, a VA good panel will monitor will be around £300. The Samsung G5 and AOC CQ27G2U (or the flat version of the AOC Q27G2U) are both good options. There's also another recommendation for a MSI monitor on the Monitor Recommendations thread here.

IPS panels will be more expensive. I know Moderator Rakk got a ASUS TUF 1440P 144hz (or maybe 165hz) IPS monitor recently for £450, what the exact model is, I'm unsure. If IPS is something you're interested in we could could always ask Rakk what they think of it.
