It's definitely not well balanced. There are quite a few options that do not look ideal.

What is your actual budget?
What monitor are you pairing the system with, model or resolution refresh.
What are your uses? Is it purely for gaming?

Can you go into your order, click "post to forum" and then copy and paste the whole list including the link at the bottom? It allows us to go in for a play easily :)

well thats a bummer to hear,
the maximum budget for me is about 3k and 90% of what i do on the pc would be for gaming purposes.
monitor im unsure of right now but hoping further down the line to run 4k once it becomes a little cheaper.

Perfect.

I would strongly advise building the system with the future in mind but purchasing the GPU with the monitor in mind. When it comes time to upgrade the monitor you are much more likely to get a better buy at the time than you are just now.

What monitor are you looking to game on just now?

I don't have any major preference at the moment however I'm hoping to in the future get a 4k monitor (when they aren't so expensive), for now I would probably just use my current monitor (i don't remember the make/res/hz).
I went for the cpu and the ram with future proofing in mind as well as a 1000w psu, that way i have room to upgrade.

Of course as it seems I'm not overly knowledgable on computers and now I fear I've made a mistake. šŸ˜ž

Don't worry about it. You're fine to make changes right up until the PC goes into building without any issue.

I completely understand your preference with the 4k but you need to consider that as a future spend, you should consider the GPU to match it a future spend too. If you were to wait 12 months for a monitor, the latest GPUs will be out and you will be able to get another level again. If you buy now, you will be behind the times without actually getting the use out of it.

So, if you can find out your monitors resolution & refresh, or model, we can suggest some changes to make to get you the best bang for your buck (but also with the future in mind).

How would I go about finding the details of my monitor?
I've had a quick look through and havnt had much luck Finding the details of the monitor specifically.

So other than the gpu, what else is it thay you noticed which isn't ideal if you don't mind me asking?

Have you purchased the monitor? If you physically have it, the model number will be on the rear.

WRT the spec....

Motherboard
RAM
Storage
PSU
Cooler
Thermal Paste
WIFI
AV Software

All need addressing to be well optimised.

Just need the make and model, should be on a label on the rear of the monitor

Might be wrong but I was under the impression that the B550 motherboard required a BIOS update to take the new Ryzen CPUs and it was best to go with the X570?

Both the B550 and the X570 will require BIOS updates if already purchased and of a lower standard than required. I believe you may be thinking of the B450 with which the update will come later.

If purchasing via PCS the BIOS updates will already be in place and in hand. There are no chances of a dead PC due to BIOS being delivered.

Must be thinking of the B450..
Although I know I was recommended to put the X750 Rog Strix Mobo as a minimum for the same CPU due to the VRMs

Definitely, see post 525567 for corroboration to that fact :D

That monitor is very low end performance wise and wouldn't warrant that sort of spend IMO. The GPU to run it would be the lowest tier really. However, given that you have a 3K budget I've stuck in a 1440p monitor to the config below. Everything in the below build is high end and it has a gaming experience to match with the monitor in place.

Looks decent, so if I wanted to configure the pc while it's being processed what would the steps be? Would it be as simple as switching some of the components out or is there more to it?

No, its that simple. Just go into the order and change what you want to change and then submit it.

Ah brilliant I really appreciate it. Would this setup be future proof for upgrading e.g getting a better gpu or getting more ram etc.

Yes, the PSU covers you for the 3080 without any worries at all. I wouldn't be concerned about RAM, 32GB is way over anything that would be required even looking forward.

I don't think you will have much to change at all with this build over the coming years.
