Try them in the rear of the PC to see if they work would be my first suggestion.

Ideally it would be helpful to see your specs (you might need to ask your dad to copy/paste them here for you maybe?).

If he bought it from here directly he will have a login to the PCS website, you can get the specs and copy/paste them here from that login.

Do the headphones work elsewhere (just to rule out the headphone/mic being an issue)?
Did you try them in the back of the PC?

Check discord settings to see if you need to change the 'input/output'?

Maybe screenshot what you can see (including the options) if you're unsure?

If you go to your sound settings and speak into the microphone, can you see the visual levels indicator move (indicating that the PC is detecting sound from the microphone) ??

Does the same happen to discord (ie discord 'can' detect your voice)? Did you try a test call on discord and if so did that work ok?

I'd look in the sound settings and change the default communications device to your headset (whichever one is moving when you speak). Then trying default input on Discord.

Yeah that's what I was thinking, is it definitely the microphone as shown there as opposed to 'line in'?

Assume that bar to the right increases with green marks when you speak into the mic?

Its worth checking to see if windows has inadvertently turned the volume down (right click go into properties and check levels)
