Hiya, did you buy it from PCS? If so can you post the full specs from the order page?

It's very old specs so I'm guessing it may have been second hand?

Hi yes, its second hand.

but it feels more like a power issue, it does not turn itself of it freezes i was wondering if its some sort of driver that i should have to control what sort of power it sends to the cpu

So the seller should have transferred warranty to you, if they haven't done that then you'd need to contact them to get that done as without an account, you have no access to drivers so it won't work properly.

But it sounds like it's overheating as well.

Any seller is aware about warranty transfer, without it it’s not gonna work. If they’re unable to transfer warranty then I would cancel the purchase as it’s just a useless bit of kit

For an off-the-shelf PC from Dell, HP, Lenovo, et al, there is a depository of all their drivers/bloatware/etc. that you can access.

With a custom gaming PC that's not the case, as it's built for the customer specifically and their online account would have any custom software/BIOS/firmware/drivers required to run that laptop. Even the same chassis/config from another custom PC builder will have their own customised software packages.

I would try re-pasting the CPU. Once done, leave the cover off and boot the system, being careful not to impact the fans or heatsinks etc. Just to make sure they are all working and operational.

While doing the re-paste be sure to give the heatsinks a good clean of dust. I would also take out the RAM & re-seat it.

If you contact PCS they may be able to help if you give the serial number of the laptop. There's no guarantee, it just might be possible to send you over a driver package etc for your particular system. There are no "model" numbers unfortunately, just chassis models. Everything contained within is customised so the only way to identify is either through owners warranty/account/transfer or through the serial number.

If you have success with the above I would look to replace the paste with a Kryosheet.

You can see the positive experience I had, along with @SpyderTracks above. There are other members such as @Martinr36 as well. We have all spoken quite highly.

It's expensive to get just now for this trial, just go with any old paste to get it going, but once you're satisfied it's definitely worth a switch to save the maintenence hassles.

Thankyou Scott, I have repasted and deep cleaned, still freezing.

RAM would be next. If there are 2 modules, try running with 1 at a time. If you have an alternative you could try it would be handy.

If it's still dying all that's left is the HDD/M2/SSD or etc. Either reduce to a single drive (if there are multiple) or replace the primary for a Windows install attempt.

After that I'm afraid it would be toast IMO. It would need a significant repair. If the cooling, RAM and HDD are all OK then it's likely to be CPU/GPU/Motherboard unfortunately.

You did mention power though so it may be worthwhile trying to boot with the battery removed but on power. Also, ensure that the PSU you have with the laptop is the correct one. Any power deficiency would shut down the laptop mid-process.
