What's up? New to pc gaming and interested in feedback on the rig I've ordered.

Where did I go wrong and where can I improve over time?

It's not a good bet at all, I'm afraid. It's on an old, weak platform, X299, that even Intel have abandoned for the last three years. There are other problems too (hugely expensive graphics card, a poor match for the monitors, insufficient cooling etc) but that's the main issue. I'd strongly suggest cancelling and starting again with a stronger foundation.

I have to agree with the brethren, that build is no good, for a start it's a 5 year old cpu on a platform that was out of date as soon as it launched as desktop processors outperformed it by a significant margin at half the cost.

No matter how you look at it, it's not a good build.

My upper budget is £3000 for the pc as I also need all the peripherals I've ordered.
The use will be for gaming and some streaming and video editing (though this is more a hobby than something I take overly serious).

I currently don't own a monitor and was going to start with the two msi monitors that I've ordered. If you can spec me out than I'll be very happy.

What's your budget for monitor?

The build has to balance throughout, the monitor being the final part. So it all has to match otherwise you get bottlenecks. So what kind of monitor you have dictates the build required
