The original build is going to be better for gaming but the Threadripper build would make it look like it was standing still for multi-thread performance (rendering etc).

There's always going to be some sort of compromise though :)

The H500 case is fine. I would honestly give PCS a call and ask if it's a configuration error. There may be some sort of layout problem.
Yeah definitely going to give them a call to say whether the layout won’t be problem.

I did change the 2080ti to rog.. that bit extra bit with your advice I feel these 2 will perform that bit better with rtx than the standard 2080ti and giving the fans these should work nicer with this case?

I have a few weeks to go though this still tossing the idea between threadripper or just going for the Ryzen 9

Thanks again Scott

The STRIX models are very expensive for what you get..... but the great thing is you know exactly what you are getting. They're top of the heap as far as the 2080Ti is concerned and the cooling on them is excellent. Given the hard use they are going to get it's a wise move.

I would agree, sorry to chip in, normally we would avoid them like the plague but for this use case, the cooling is that much better that I think it’s worthwhile.

Got email back from pcp about the case build and gpu's
this is what they said

********
Hello,

Thank you for the email. With the configuration that you have the graphics cards would automatically have to be spaced out as the Asus ROG STRIX graphics cards are thicker than the standard 2 slot graphics cards. This would mean that it would be installed in slots 1 and 3 for the graphics cards so there would be a couple of inches for airflow between the top card and the next one.

As for the case, that was one of the cases I was going to recommend. Note that this case comes with a Perspex cosmetic cover which is removable on the front and top of the case. We would advise that these not be installed, as to prevent any airflow restrictions inside this case.
**********

I am guessing they meant the glass panels that slide into the back of the mesh, not to use them?

If using Pro software for rendering would you not be better off with using Quadro cards ? Maybe maybe something like 2 RTX 5000's / 6 000's or even a single RTX 8000. I use [ at work... not my own system ] 2 RTX 6000'S awesome cards, Just at thought.

Thanks Raymond for the gpu recommendation.. I will be sure to check them out.

I am not to familiar with these cards to be honest
So will look into those you have chosen

thanks again

Jamie, re the Nvidia Quadro cards, they are certified for Professional applications. whereas Geforce cards are not. The upshot of that being if running any Quadro cards in any Pro software any technical problems either The software vendor / and Nvidia will help . they won't for consumer cards. They are also designed to run at full blast for hours on end. Just some more info for you.

You know I am also looking at the case coolmaster cosmos c700m really like the look of this case more than any other even the Corsair 1000 but are they ideal for this custom spec I have got.

honestly this is the problem with computer builds you keep changing your mind lol

Not a great case for cooling IMO. Feel free to look at independent reviews but it's not going to be a patch on the obvious offerings.

It's also RIDICULOUSLY expensive :)

Yeah the price is super high for what it is but have been watching a few reviews they did mention not the greatest for cooling but adding 5 extra fan may help

they did mention it has cheaply parts for their stock fans etc so I think this case will be no go for me.

Still stick to the original one I had in mind though.

As for the gpu everyone keeps telling me wait for the 30xx series... tbh that could be next year wait with whats going on.
Also with the gpu I have the now I am going to see huge speed gain regardless.

I don’t think those who do comment about waiting for the next gpu can actually future upgrade these to their computer at later time lol

Hi again,

It has been awhile since my last system update and some things have changed since then. (They always do lol)

I am still going ahead with my system specs but I am thinking whether to hold of until the 3080ti cards are announced.. depending when this will be I feel this may be worth the wait....... This whole COVID-19 sure has put delay on things hasn’t it
😞

was also thinking 64 core but for my needs maybe overkill

Also would like to say thank the mods who have helped me on here massively.

The Samsung also has Picture in Picture so you can plug in multiple sources and display them both or flip between them, it’s quite handy.

I think this is the most purposeful build I've ever seen to be honest.

I don't think there's anything that it won't absolutely crush.

Can't wait for it to arrive, i am sure i am going to see big performance boost with rendering. :-D
