More Playstation games coming to PC

Sony are just....

After the Helldivers 2 and Ghost of Tsushima thing where a PSN account was needed to access multiplayer content, the next Sony exclusives coming to PC, God of War: Ragnarok and Until Dawn both need PSN accounts despite being entirely single player.

Starting at 7 is magical, you feel like you still have most of the day after work
Starting at 7 is a long lay in 😊
I started at 5 today, that is 5 am for clarity, there are definitely two 5 o'clocks in a day
But I don't work a fixed number of hours. I start when I need to and finish once the work is done.
That was 4 30, pm, today

I refuse to start work before 7am (for my colleagues' benefit, otherwise I will bite everyone's head off all day).

But as someone who's spent decades working on foreign projects, you just get used to the 'stay until it's finished' mentality...which is some cases was 20 hour days, 5 days a week for 12 weeks...and then sleeping all of Saturday, doing your washing on Sunday and then getting the plane back on Sunday evening.

Money was great; health not so much, so I'm glad I'm out of that industry, and whilst I still do a similar role, I am a lot more prescriptive on expectations around my role, tasks, responsibilities and hours (rarely start before 8am, and rarely finish after 8pm).

Benches are in for God Of War: Ragnarok

It's getting bombed because Sony have doubled down on requiring a PSN account

Still not tempted to get a PSN account

I don't know how Ghost of Tsushima can have the single-player mode without a PSN account (needed for the legends multiplayer mode only), yet GoW Ragnarok which is single-player only, requires one.

I created a throwaway account just for this game.

But it's all purely for Sony to be able to artificially/fraudulently inflate their PSN numbers to give investors a bit of 'feel good'.

Still feels like there's an equal amount of cutscenes to gameplay

Woah, 175Gb install size!

This is what we're seeing with developers not restricting themseves to 8Gb VRAM, and it's proof that it does make a significant difference in how the game looks and this is without any Ray Tracing

I've only come across 2 issues in about 8 hours of gameplay.
  1. Axe sometimes gets stuck in the throwing position, but won't release
  2. Audio mixing can terrible in some places, so the ambient noises can be louder than the whispers (not actually whispers, but that's how quiet they are) of the characters voices

The next game trying to tempt me into getting a PSN account is coming up.

A little surprised that they've not listed the specs on Steam yet when it's out next month!

Sony released Spiderman 2 yesterday on the quiet and it has not been good - 55% positive ratings on Steam from a touch over 1,400 reviews. There's no PSN account notice on the Steam page, so perhaps Sony are starting to learn their lesson on that front. The fact that this game was one of the PS5 flagship games, but they released it on PC without much fanfare suggests they knew it was not a great port. Still, given the huge number of live service games that Sony have cancelled in the last year, they've got quite the shortfall to make up!

Wow, that’s quite a surprise from such an important IP!

Sony have (belatedly!) seen sense and ditched the mandatory PSN thing on their PC games. I can now go wild and get my hands of Ghost of Tsushima, God of War:Ragnarok and all the others that I've been holding off from buying. Or at least, I can now wait until the next Steam sale to buy 'em all!
