Modified "Atlas Elite" pre-designed spec to be used mostly for flight-sim

Hello, looking at getting a first gaming PC, mainly for flight simming - i've outlined my logic behind what i've selected below, and would dearly appreciate any help and advice!

Monitor: I've got a budget of around £160, although prepared to flex. Since this is my first foray into a desktop its proven to be quite intimidating and not entirely sure what I'm looking for in truth
Use: For gaming, mainly flight sims such as DCS world
Budget: Upper limit max of £1800

Thoughts behind selection:
- Only used gaming laptop to date, no experience with desktop PCs (Currently using Nitro 5, 16gb RAM, GTX1660ti)
- Started by modifying the pre-set "Atlas Elite" from the website, on the basis it'd be somewhat well configured already.
- CPU - Would like to be able to achieve a 3.2GHZ clock rate w/turbo as minimum
- Memory - As far as i'm aware flight sims can be quite sketchy with even 16GB
- Graphics card - I'm not too concerned about crystal graphics - coming from a 6gb 1660ti, i'd like to improve on that with another middle-range type card, but I'm certainly not looking at 3080TIs etc.
- Storage - I'd like a 500GB SSD in order to save my flight sim on, perhaps with a little space left over, since that takes an extreme length of time on my current HDD, otherwise i'm content with all other games i play in regards to loading time currently on my HDD.
- Processing cooling/case airflow - As mentioned earlier coming from a laptop i'm very acquainted with how important it is to keep everything cool, but I'm unfamiliar how this can be done. I can't find too much info on how good the case is or not, and i thought the liquid cooling couldn't hurt anything but my budget, but could do with some enlightening.

Personally, don't get me wrong I am no expert & pretty new to the PC gaming world myself (about 2 years), I'm not sure if you can put an OS on a secondary Hard drive, might want to swap those around.

I'm more of an NVIDIA guy so someone else will have to comment on your GPU (Flight sims are GPU heavy) but I am aware it is a good GPU!

What res you playing at? That will make a big difference.

Maybe bump the RAM up one more speed level to 3200 if you can, otherwise it isn't a huge issue.

I'd stick with liquid cooling, you can configure to have one intake one exhaust which always gives better airflow. And liquid coolers work and look better than air coolers (imo).

And just my personal OCD, I would get more power, just to be on the safe side. 650 would do it no problem, that is just me being oversafe though (I always go 750w)

You're more likely to get GPU bound, swap windows 11 for 10, up the ram speed (the real sweet spot is 3200), ditch Bullguard. Yeah, you might want to look at that GPU again. Oh, and go for a better PSU.

Heya! You've got a lot of the right ideas but it hasn't quite come through on you spec. 12th gen intel is a long way ahead of 10th gen and a move I'd strongly recommend making.

Any questions ask away!

Case
CORSAIR 4000D AIRFLOW TEMPERED GLASS GAMING CASE Higher quality case with much better airflow, other good options are the Lian Li 215 and the Cooler Master TD500
Processor (CPU)
Intel® Core™ i5 10-Core Processor i5-12600KF (3.7GHz) 20MB Cache 10th gen intel is now a couple of generations old, 12th gen is now on a new platform and will smash gaming needs (the F just removes the integrated graphics which you won't need)
Motherboard
ASUS® TUF GAMING Z690-PLUS WIFI D4 (LGA1700, USB 3.2, PCIe 5.0) - ARGB Ready All the motherboard you'll need for the 12600K
Memory (RAM)
32GB Corsair VENGEANCE DDR4 3200MHz (2 x 16GB) As you've mentioned MSFS, 32GB of RAM is definetly a good idea, although so is fast RAM, this 3200mhz kit should do you well
Graphics Card
8GB NVIDIA GEFORCE RTX 3060 Ti - HDMI, DP, LHR Generally for 1080p the 3060TI would be pretty overspecced, but with MSFS being about the most demanding game out right now, it's a more understandable choice here.
1st M.2 SSD Drive
512GB INTEL® 670p M.2 NVMe PCIe SSD (up to 3000MB/sR | 1600MB/sW) Boot SSD for Windows and applications
1st M.2 SSD Drive
1TB PCS PCIe M.2 SSD (2200 MB/R, 1500 MB/W) Games drive, you don't want to be loading games off of a HDD in 2022
Power Supply
CORSAIR 850W RMx SERIES™ MODULAR 80 PLUS® GOLD, ULTRA QUIET Much higher quality PSU that'll run quiter, last for longer and allow for a future upgrade
Power Cable
1 x 1 Metre UK Power Cable (Kettle Lead)
Processor Cooling
Corsair H115i RGB PRO XT Hydro Series High Performance CPU Cooler The 12th gen CPU's aren't the coolest so I'd rcommend an AIO for the 12600K. The H100x is a couple of generations old now. The H100i PRO XT (240mm) is currently out of stock, so I've swapped for a slightly larger H115i (280mm)
Thermal Paste
STANDARD THERMAL PASTE FOR SUFFICIENT COOLING
Sound Card
ONBOARD 6 CHANNEL (5.1) HIGH DEF AUDIO (AS STANDARD)
Network Card
10/100/1000 GIGABIT LAN PORT

The other option is an AMD build, with less thermal requirements it comes out a bit cheaper than an equvalently specced Intel system, but performance is slightly behind too. If you're able to stretch the budget a bit more, you could take the money saved here and put it towards a better 1440p 144hz monitor which would be better paired with the 3060TI for just about anything else you play but would see FPS fall rather in MSFS. Our current go to's are the Gigabyte M27Q, ASUS VG27AQ and Dell S2721- but due to a post Christmas monitor drought all these monitors are out of stock or pretty expensive, they should be sitting around the £300 mark when prices are back to normal.

Amazon have the VG27AQ available at £279 right now, but you need to move fast, only 6 left….

Gone…
