Advice on the below spec appreciated. Thanks in advance for your advice.
I will use the machine for gaming and general purpose office type use.
I am likely to user Hyper-V to run a VM (hence the WIndows 11 Pro) - this will not present a heavy load on the machine .. sometimes Linux is just better
Games won't be the latest high spec - perahps some first person shooters but am not chasing high frame rates but do want full detail of what I look at onscreen; games like Civilisation; and some heavy weight naval warfare strategy/simulator - think high CPU load, moderate graphcis load. I want a degreee of future proofing - my last PCSpecialist machine must be close to 7.5 years old now - I only updated the fans (to quiet ones); SSD Sata primary drive, and the graphics card around 3 or 4 years ago. I hope to get a similar life out of the new PC, and would anticipate similar moderate upgrades in 5 years time.
I do not intend to overclock this or any other entusiast tweaks.
IN addition to the spec'd NVM I will be adding my own SATA SSD & 1TB SATA hard drives from my exisiting system into the below; plus 2 additional 120MM quiet fans into the system; I do intend to connect the PC to the monitor with G-Sync
I would value advice on the below and especially on the motherboard - I want DDR5 (for speed); Ideally USB-C; i don't need WFI and don't need CPU GPU unit - i know the backup argument - but equally i can just temporarily swap in an old graphcis card for a few days.
I'm not chasing the last 10% of speed out of the system. I can flex the budget a little (think £10's not £100's) where there is a mismatch/poor configuration or if for example a Gigabyte MOBO is a better match for the system spec
