Microphone and sound issues

Hello I am wondering if anyone can help me.
Struggling to get my headset to work. I have the pink and green jacks plugged into the back of the computer.
Have I done this wrong ?

I’m a noob when it comes to all this.

My audio is working, but my mic is still not working, and when I click the troubleshoot button, nothing is showing up as an issue

Have you opened up the volume control / mixer to check the microphone is not muted.

Have you checked sound properties to confirm what input for mic device is selected?

There are three different Audio options, could it be I have the wrong option selected?
It is selected as Speakers (Realtek High Definition Audio)

The other two options are
- 1 - 27G1G4 (AMD High Definition Audio)
Realtek digital output (Realtek High Definition Audio)

I also have the option to plug it into the front of the case. would this be a better option?

Can you post pictures of the input sockets (back and front ideally) and also what your pluggin in, especially the connectors? They aren't all compatible with each other, so it's helpful to see exactly what we're dealing with.

Seem to have found my issue, it was my splitter cable, can anyone recommend a long spilliter cable

Is that definitely the issue? you can pick one up on Amazon for £3-£8 just search headset splitter cable, I don't see a difference in qualities you want to look out for other than aesthetics and ensuring they fit your use case.
