Mic is really quiet

Hi my pc arrived today but when i plug my mic in its really quiet to other people in my old pc it was fine and when i tried it in my dads pc which is also from pc specialist it is also quiet to other people and clue why? thanks.

Yes I have checked the mic settings and there all on max and I try go on obs and it has static in background but on old pc there was no static.

its really annoying because i bought this so id be able to stream games and because of this static in obs i have to turn dont mic so there no static then im really quiet my mic is fine on discord now but the mic is still quiet on obs due to me having to turn it down so theres no static but yet again there was no stactic on my old pc.

Drivers with OS fully updated? Could you paste all full specs, not just a short summary?

Interesting question had this problem today with a new computer for my daughter. If you go into sound settings and plug in your mic you will get the choice to go into advanced settings. For some reason the decibel level will be 0. Increase this to max along with the volume and it should work.

i dont know a whole lot about computers but i checked and the mic driver it is up to date but the main problem i have now is that there is static in the background of obs which i can get rid of by turning the mic down on obs but then i am too quiet.

What mic are you using? Is it USB or jack?
