Low volume on new 17.3" cosmos VI with soundblaster cinema 3

Hi there,

I've just taken delivery of the above mentioned laptop. Have tried to watch a movie on it and there is very little audio, so little that we reverted to watching it on a 10" netbook. Both system volume and windows media volume are set to 100%. The unit says it has soundblaster cinema 3 installed (at least there's a sticker) however I cannot find an installation in any search of programs. Can anyone direct me to where the install might be, or how to fix this issue.

Many thanks.

The first place I'd check after any discs that came with the laptop would be your downloads section on the main PC Specialist website.

I had this issue recently. To fix it, I did these steps:
1) Right click the volume icon at the bottom right side of the desktop
2) Click volume mixer
3) Left click the speaker icon under "device"
4) Click "levels"
5) Scroll to the bottom until you find rear and front
6) Increase them gradually until you find a volume that's reasonable for you

I can't see anything to scroll under levels. As far as I can tell everything is already turned up to 100%.

It should look like this. If it's already up to 100, then it's probably worth re-installing the Realtek audio drivers.

Also, the software you mentioned comes with the disc under optional drivers provided by PCSpecialist. If you can't find the disc, look into your purchase history and look for the drivers.

I'm not seeing the same options as you. OS is windows 10 home.

I do have a disk marked device drivers and utilities but no DVD drive on the laptop.

Thanks again for your help
