Looking to upgrade 4 year old PC

You can leave the old one in place if there's room, but I know it's a very tight space at the back of that case. However you'll want to move the cables (RGB that are connected to the current node & PWM that will be connected to the motherboard) over to the new controller.

There should be a spare SATA power socket (or a splitter / molex convertor) to connect to, but I've not got that PSU and it's a relatively low power one so will have fewer outputs than the higher power ones. You may have some spares in the PCS box that came with the PC.
Thanks for the advise. I think I will have to cut the cable ties to try and find what’s going on. I’m guessing if I remove the old unit from the back that would have been connected to a sata port?

Also, is there going to be only one PWM at the front? I’m guessing these cables will be coming from the front fans?

That's actually insane value. Not so long ago £250 was getting you a basic gaming spec, that's proper top end!
The only compromise is that it’s a high end VA vs IPS, but for what you’re getting, I’d take that any day. Even up to £600 on the IPS offerings you only seem to get HDR400 (which isn’t HDR), maybe 600

I’ve been thinking about the monitor. Since I mostly play competitive games, wouldn’t it make more sense to prioritize a higher refresh rate, like 240Hz, over advanced HDR features? I also remembered that I have £600 in Nectar points, which I can use on eBay or Argos. I checked Argos, but their selection seems pretty limited. Do you have any recommendations for a future-proof option?

Do you expect to play them competitively? Top 1% in the world sort of level? If not, you're not going to be able to notice the difference. It's snake oil to the masses with bigger numbers.

If you're at 60hz and you are offered 144hz.... this is more frames.
If you're at 144hz and offered 240hz.... this is moarrrrrr frames.

More is far more important than moarrrrr. Moarrrrrr is for the pub to impress your mates. Just tell them you've got 500hz

Playing competitive games is normal, most of us do. You don’t need a “esports” screen for that, in fact in the main that would reduce the gaming experience

Being a competitive player is an entirely different thing. Competitive players are literally superhuman in reaction times, 99% of people just don’t have that physical ability. That’s why they’re paid multiple millions per match.

Dont be fooled by “influencers”, they don’t care about giving actual advice or how you best spend your money, only on the multi-million dollar deal they’ve made with that company to promote their products

I wouldn’t change my suggestion, 1080p is inferior, no matter how high the refresh rate.

thanks a lot, I've just upgraded the CPU and the Fan, I pluged the control unit fan header into the AIO_Pump slot instead of CPU cooler so now when booting saying theres CPU Fan error. Also, I used the USB splitter for the control unit and the screen, iCUE does not recognise the command core. Shall I remove the spliter and plug both USB's into the motherboard? Or should it work regardless? Thank you!
