Looking to get an opinion on this build

Hello, I was hoping to get some advice on the below build if possible please.

Currently playing at 1080p but looking to go to 1440p in the near future so the build is reflecting that (in my opinion)

The monitors that I'm currently using are - Acer XB270H & Acer S271HL

If there are any improvement that you believe I could make / adjustments, please let me know.

Not really wanting to go over £3k if at all possible.

Thanks for your time.

With this sort of budget this is definitely a have it all spec. You can go all out in every component area without breaking your budget.

Main change I made was dropping the GPU down to a 3070, firstly because the 3080 is currently out of stock, but also because if you’re only upgrading to 1440p the 3070 is really as high as you need to look. Higher than that you’re looking at 4k cards, and it’s only worth opting for those if you’re going to getting a monitor to make the most of them.
Added a 980 pro as a boot drive, and ditched the second hard drive.
I would query what the capture card is for, as if you’re looking to stream PC gameplay you can just use software, capture card would only be necessary for streaming off of console.
And as you haven’t selected windows I would just enquire if you’re retiring an old device, or if you’re sourcing it off a reputable source online, as there are many dodgy vendors at the moment.

Thank you for your input.

I've adjusted the graphics card down to a 3070 per your recommendation and done the same with the hard drives.

As for the capture card, it would be for streaming console gameplay which is why I threw it in there.

I am getting rid of an old PC so I'd just be moving one Windows licence over to the new PC when it arrives which is why I don't need one from PCS.

I did notice as well that based on rumours that the 4070TI would be announced and put on sale shortly. Would it be best to wait and go for that or would that be overkill for what I'm looking for?

I'd definitely wait if u want ray tracing. New gpus r ment to be a huge upgrade next for gen gaming.

Awesome, thanks for the clarification regarding capture card and Windows, your choices make a lot more sense now.

Nothing has been confirmed regarding the 4070ti, although a lot of rumours are indeed pointing to January 5th for the release date. With all new releases, I would always encourage waiting to make informed decisions, and that means waiting for trusted reviewers such as GN or HUB to put out their reviews, which normally happens day before or day of launch. From what Nvidia have hinted at, the 3070ti is looking at close to the 3090 performance, which would nominally put it in overkill range for 1440p gaming, with it being better utilised at 1440p Ultrawide, Superwide, or 4K. Ultimately, the real questions for you to consider are:
1) Are you happy waiting for the 4070ti to release before ordering, with the proviso that it might not in fact on January 5th and could very well launch later in the month/year?
2)Does the performance boost suit the 4070ti to a 1440p gaming build, which we will be more easily able to determine once 3rd party reviews come out?
3) Will the 4070ti release at a reasonable price that would justify opting for it over the 3070? You do have the advantage of a very healthy budget to offset this, but I never advocate spending extra money for the sake of spending extra money, as I hope the couple of hundred of builds I've specced over the last 2 years reflect.

Hopefully I haven't overwhelmed you with the above, but again, I would just like to help let you make the most informed decision you are able to do, when investing a large amount of money into a gaming system.
