Hello everyone!

I have a custom-built 17.3" Cosmos Series laptop from PCSpecialist, purchased back in 2016. Unfortunately, I’ve cracked the case. It’s still working fine, but I’d like to replace the damaged case.

If anyone knows where I could find a compatible replacement or has recommendations on where to buy one, please let me know! I’m also open to alternative options if an original replacement isn’t available.

Thanks in advance!

This late on, I don't think you'd have any option but to check for second hand parts on marketplaces, but that system is well past it's supported lifespan at over 8 years old.

You can try an official Clevo stockist like Eurocomm but I very much doubt they hold parts for a unit that old and it would be very expensive if they do:

I doubt PCS have any stocks left, but that would be the first place I'd try.

But I'd just accept it's time to replace it personally, no point spending money on something that old.

Coincidentally I've just retired a 2016 17.3" Cosmos after 8 years of great service, in my case the round power switch was starting to go, it started to spin round completely and was taking a longer and longer press to power on.

I got in touch with PC Specialist regarding a repair and yes, it's too old for them to have parts to repair it. However, they were incredibly helpful and told me my chassis is a Clevo W670RCW1 (you may already know this).

In another world we'd be able to help each other out but in all honesty the old laptop does still work and is worth more to me as a spare (although I don't intend to switch it on) than anyone would be prepared to pay second-hand to re-use the case (even without the SSDs).

That would depend on what features of the 17.3" Cosmos you wanted, I went for a Lafite Pro 16", essentially traded a slightly-smaller screen for better resolution, quite happy with it.
