Monitor: 2 AOC monitors (27inch 1080p monitors with 144hz refresh)
System: it is mostly for gaming - usually play dota/ Call of Duty/GTA
Budget: I am willing to go up another £100 - or more but within really good reason. Ideally would like to stick around the number I have currently. Looking for a bit of longevity and performance.

This is where I'd be aiming in your shoes mate, in future I'd be looking to upgrade the GPU and move to 1440p as 1080p is kinda a dying platform. I'd say in the next year or two though 4K will become much more affordable as it's moving to the more common display type

@Steveyg just curious what would be the benefit to have two separate m.2 instead of just one 2TB one. increasing the RAM speed and reducing the GPU. - not faulting it just wanted to know the pros/cons so i can understand why. Cheers

Changing the RAM speed is because Ryzen CPU's in particular are very dependant on fast RAM to run optimally. The sweet spot right now is 6000Mhz on the RAM and I've gone with the best gaming CPU currently on the market, as a simple analogy you wouldn't buy a Ferrari and put £50 wheels on it. It would kill the performance of a highly speced finely tuned machine, same principle with the 7800X3D. That thing is a Ferrari so treat it like a Ferrari and give it the RAM speed it needs. Also one stick of RAM will kill performance in pretty much any build, RAM is designed to work in pairs or on a Dual Channel as it's called, you'll be hamstringing the performance of the CPU with only one stick. Always buy RAM in pairs

Changed the GPU to keep on budget, ideally I'd recommend something else but it's fine, it'll do a job but it wont set the world on fire. It'll be the part to upgrade in a couple of years to turn this from a pretty decent gaming PC to a top of the line monster

I can't help but think that a 7700 CPU (with a cheapish air cooler) and a 6700 XT graphics card would be a better use of budget than a 7800X3D and a 7600. You'd get better performance in the majority of games with the former and at £100 cheaper. Or you could go further and get the 7800 XT. This is overkill for 1080p but would be terrific for 1440p...

@Steveyg that makes sense - i have upgrading it to 36gb 6000mhz like you suggested. And @sck451 I see what you mean i have took the 7700X and took that extra cash and got my M.2 storage. But i am keeping the same GPU - as i will in the near future upgrade the monitors so worth a slight overkill for a short period.

You don't want the 7700x, it's the older version of the 7700.

The 7700 has the same performance but uses a lot less power so needs less cooling.
