Looking for a new PC

With the budget that is available I don’t understand why you’ve both neglected to push the H100i RGB Platinum, by far the best performing cooler for that CPU. Whilst the CoolerMaster is functional, it’s not a patch on the Corsair. It’s noisier and doesn’t have the software integration. Don’t like RGB? It takes a couple of mouse clicks to turn it off.

Whilst AMD cards have better availability,
I still feel that Nvidia have the edge this generation. If I was buying, I’d go for the system specced by @MrWilson. Potentially dropping the 2TB Samsung 970 to the 1TB PCS, swapping in the Corsair cooler and (definitely) dropping the thermal paste if we’re getting stretched on the financials.

I think, after taking the paste out that leaves that last spec just £20 above my initial budget, so think I will press on and order that later on tonight ... especially if we really are looking at a 3 month wait for the 3080!

There was a warning though -

I’d remove them, they’re a bit cheap and noisy. You should have excellent cooling with the combo of components so I can’t see them being necessary.

Thanks Junior, just made the order - and now have to hope the wait isn't going to kill me Will be happy to share a pic and review once received but as it is going to be quite a leap from my current set up it probably won't be very objective! I did try MSFS on it recently and it was pretty much unplayable so will be good to see how that looks once I have taken delivery!!
