Lockdown - What's Worth a Watch?

Future Man - Sooooo funny! So utterly inappropriate. Premise is that a geeky teenager who is obsessed with gaming is playing his favorite game one night and he completes it. Turns out the game is actually a test set by renaissance fighters in the future to find the saviour of the timelines, and they hunt him down to train him for the ensuing battles. Utterly hysterical. It's hopefully just about to start Season 4.
I really like their 'energy recharging' method ;)

I watched the first episode and so far not overwhelmed, but it was intriguing! I was underwhelmed with the first couple of episodes of WandaVision, but then really enjoyed it as it all pieced together, so hopes are still high on Loki
Episode two and things are warming up, I don't even think we have had a wow yet from Owen Wilson, but definitley getting more absorbing

I’m sure it will ramp up. I was thinking at one point it just seems like it may just be a version of DC’s Legends of Tomorrow.

The Tomorrow War, looks as though it might be worth a watch if you've got Prime

This is certainly not new, but I've got a few days off and it just crossed my mind it's about time I watched it again.

Naked Lunch (1991)

It was based on a book by William S Burroughs who also did Fear & Loathing In Las Vegas. Directed by Chronenberg and starring the incredible Peter Weller who was Robocop.

For me, this is Peter Wellers best ever portrayal, he just suits the narrative so perfectly.

It is one of the most bizarre films ever made. You have to take it in context though, a lot of it is almost autobiographical for Burroughs who had a major drug problem, he was an active journalist and novelist and went all over the world covering stories. He spent quite a lot of time in the middle east at a time when it wasn't really frequented much by westerners. Burroughs said of the book that the chapters could be read in any order, and it was down to Chronenberg to try to make this into some watchable portrayal.

It's one of my absolute favourite films. Burroughs was way ahead of his time in his social beliefs and those two books for me highlight his genius. Both of them are loosely based on his own experiences mixed with his hallucinations. The scene where he shoots his wife in the film is based on real events of his first wife of the same name when he was half cut, that scene is literally a carbon copy of what happened in real life. Obviously Fear and Loathing was finally made into a film depicted by Johnny Depp in 1998.

If you get the chance, read the books also, they are truly remarkable.

Great film! It’s up there with Terry Gilliam’s Brazil as one of those really ‘out there’ movies that demand at least a second viewing to try and get your head round things.

That’s what I’m after, a proper melty Sunday :)
You maniac!

Why not make it a triple header and finish with Lost Highway? There’ll be such a high melting risk that you should probably sit in a barrel to prevent spillage.
